Pointer jumpy on MPB (Leopard) after wake from sleep...

I sent this thread to the iStat folks.

I too have iStat Pro with this "jumpy mouse after wake" issue. I'm going to remove it and see what happens.

Add me to the list. Very annoying when I have the "dying keyboard" problem as well.

So far, I'm wishing I kept my older MBP instead of upgrading 4 weeks ago.

But it seems related to Leopard

I also have had the istat pro widget installed and open and I have been having the jumpy cursor problem. I have closed and deleted the widget. I have slept the computer twice now with no problems, hopefully this is what was the problem. Only time will tell.

How is this solution working out now that more time has passed? Did it take care of the mouse issue?

3 sleeps here since deleting the widget - it can't be this easy can it? I was about to go out and buy a Vista machine!!!!! (JUST KIDDING!!!)

it has been almost 24 hours with no mouse problems with many sleep/wake cycles. Although now i'm getting the intermittent keyboard problem all of a sudden, which I wasn't getting before.

I got my new MBP 2.4 Friday - let it sleep and wake all weekend, with no problems |While Plugged In|

Yesterday the machine was asleep, |Not plugged in| and when I woke it I had the sporadic mouse.

I am pretty sure that was the first time the machine was asleep while not plugged in.

I too have iStat installed.

My MBP 2.4 at work also has iStat pro installed, and it goes to sleep every night - but it is always plugged in and I have never had the problem.

Both machines are fresh installs.

Also, neither machine has suffered from the "keyboard" issue.

It seems like the keyboard problem is unrelated to iStat. I had that problem on the Macbook Pro 2.4ghz I returned, with both Tiger and Leopard. Also on this new one with with a clean install of Leopard. It looks like the keyboard problem is more widespread than the other problems we've had.

add another one... SR MBP 2.2 with funky mouse after wake. i do have the istats widget installed. i'll uninstall tonight and see if it helps.

It is amazing how many of us use iStat!! I have been going 23 hours now with MANY lid close/open cycles and still OK. I'm really hoping this is it.

I too removed iStat three days ago. The jumpy mouse problem seemed to go away, although I did have my keyboard stop working on me once during this time. Unfortunately, today the jumpy mouse came back when I woke it up from sleep. Based on this, I would guess that iStat is not the problem, it just exacerbates it.

I've had this as well. It seems to happen when connecting to a wireless network. Sometimes though, after connection has been established, the problem continues and I have to restart.

I read more of the thread, and I have iStat Pro installed as well. Its so useful... will be sad if I need to uninstall it.

It seems to me that it's possibly a combination of

Santa Rosa

iStat - I used menus

and

Leopard.

Our 2.33 Core 2 Duo has NEVER exhibited the problem.

The 2.4 Santa Rosa did.

It's early, but no mouse problems without iStat.

....Yet.
