LG Viewty

Not going for the iPhone because I want a better camera and LG have brought out the fab (if weirdly named) Viewty.
Of course it's not mac compatible with iSync so I may be posting in the wrong place.

LG's support people were quite rude when I tried to find out if it would show up as an external flash disc or if there was any other way of porting photos taken on it to a Mac or even if it had Pictbridge. The answer (at premium phone rates) was a very curt "No!" to everything, no attempt to even pretend to be helpful. I later found out from a review site (there is currently nothing useful on LG's site) that actually it does have Pictbridge so at least I can connect to a printer but LG's "support" staff don't seem to know this.

If anyone gets one of these and has any success getting the photos onto a Mac can they post about it?

I wouldn't bother normally, particularly with LG's bad attitude to people trying to actually BUY their goods, but I really want a camera that's also a phone rather than a phone with a bad camera and this seems the best around at the moment. I looked at the new Sony-ericcson K850i but it was rather disappointing and didn't take anything like such good photos in the shop.

you could try to switch the USB Mode in the camera (see manual)

one question please:

i made a ringtone with new feature from GB4 (Garageband)
and exported it with the GB4 export feature. then i copied it onto
my 2GB miniSD card inside the viewty. it wont recognize the ringtone.
does it need a special viewty ringtone format?

(btw, this topic is very wide, i cant see the full text in my browser window and must scroll left and right. other topics fit into my safari window, any idea whats wrong?)

I just got the LG viewty thinking it is compatible with my mac.

I managed to bluetooth the contacts over, got the gmail application installed, now how do i send over my ical items. does anyone know?

where do i find the voice recorder files without blue toothing them to my mac, they must be in a folder somewhere, when usb connected mass storage , the files are nowhere to be found, try it...

Well I really don't know what to do. This is an amazing phone, but what good is it if I can't sync with my mac?

This goes back to something someone posted on this page. Companies tend to come out with amazing phones that are near perfect, but have some serious flaws. If LG had just stuck to industry standards with its Vcards and calendar then there would've been no problem with synchronizing.

Hi, you can send multiple files by selecting "Mark/Unmark" in the phone menu and marking the pics u wanna send. then just hit ''send''!

I am certainly not a techie and do not have the above mentioned phone, however... what I do with my kyocera is just email my pictures to my mac account and then drag them into iphoto. i put my mac account address into the "to" section instead of a phone #. I was astonished the first time it worked but so far so good.
