I've been a loyal Palm user until the iPhone was invented. I would love to buy an iPhone, but how do I transfer all my contact information from my Palm Treo to the new iPhone. Typing all my contact information in manually has kept me from buying an iPhone yet. I'll be at an Apple store tomorrow, If there is a way to solve this issue. Any ideas?
I am a little confused about transferring data from Treo 650 to my iphone.
All of my Treo data is in the Palm files on my Macbook Pro. How do I get it all over to my iPhone?
I am not very technical so a little guidance would be helpful.
I do not have Outlook.
Thanks
Nix that last post of mine. vcard and vcal seem to do the trick. Now my only problems is finding and transferring the contact photos from my Treo. I can't even find where they are located but see them in my contacts. Any suggestion?
How about configuring the standard iSync program (you have a macbook...so it's there) to do the syncing??? I synced my 650 using iSync and all my contacts, todo's and agenda items are in iCal and addressbook. Next is hook on your iPhone and sync again. However I don't know if (don't use it) contacts pictures will be synced.
Will outlook express work, or do I need the real outlook?
Same story for me. Many Palm based handhelds, 8 years, last 3yrs Kyocera 7135 smartphone. Want to transfer "my peripheral brain." Thanks for tips on memos/ to-dos (Apple R&D please note glaring deficiency). Have only Outlook express, not outlook, on XP.
Easy solution to transfer addresses from Treo 650 to iPhone:
1. Open Palm Desktop app, go to View menu, select all addresses by pressing Apple A. Then go to File menu and choose Export. Export as Vcard to your desktop.
2. Open Address Book app on your Mac. Drag Vcard on your desktop into the Address Book app to import.
