PowerBook 1400cs Not Connecting to Internet

I have a PowerBook 1400 that i am trying to connect wirelessly to the internet. I finally got the right wifi card and drivers, and everything says it is connecting to my network ok, but it won't connect to the internet. Any ideas? Thank you!

OS 9.1 is loaded on my PowerBook 1400.

If you had to unstuff the files on a PC, that is likely to be the problem. Mac files contain extra data that a PC discards, damaging the files. In general, the last unpack operation must take place on a Mac.

AppleSpec confirms that however impractical it may be with only 64 MB of memory, the 1400 Powerbooks can run Mac OS 9.

The drivers were downloaded and unstuffed on my MacBook running OS X 10.4.10. I then accessed my MacBook with my PowerBook and copied the files over to the PowerBook.

Did you use this one for OS 9? there is one with the same number for Mac OS X:

Does anyone know why I cant connect to Comcast cable? I am on OX 10.3.9, I have put in all the correct settings but it isnt working. Is this a know problem?

I tried both Airport 1.3.1 and 2.0.2 and neither one would load. Both said that a type 2 error had occurred.

Yes, I used the one from the link you provided. Help says that type 1 and 2 errors are memory related but increasing my virtual memory to the max didn't help.

It is not a lack of free memory, but memory-addressing errors usually caused by incompatible software or software conflicts.

Thanks for your reply. I accessed the article and followed what it said to do ... but I still got the same error message when attempting to install airport. Turning the extensions off did not help.

I don't know if this will help...

-Open your Utilities folder and run Disk First Aid; if repairs are required, you may have to boot to a MacOS System CD to fix the problem.

-Have you tried copying the AirPort_2.0.2.smi.bin file over to the 1400, then unstuffing it?

-What wireless software are you currently using? I have read there can be a conflict between the installed wireless software and Apple's AirPort software. You said earlier you got wireless drivers; if you still have the installer, launch it and see if it has an uninstall option (uninstall it), then try installing AirPort software. If there is not an uninstall option, tell us where to get the wireless driver; I will install it on my Wallstreet while using the utility called Installer Observer, then report back to you what/where are the files to manually remove.

Thanks for your response. I ran disk first aid, but no repairs were necessary. I have tried unstuffing the airoort driver on the 1400 with no success. I am using the Orinoco wifi sortware. I initially followed the tutorial you referenced in setting up the 1400, including using the same wifi card.
