What can i do. Please. Help...
Ballinasloe: The short answer is yes. I took my phone to a nearby AT&T store and asked them to re-run a credit check to get a deposit amount (you can do the same thing by calling a CSR in AT&T's sales department -- sorry, but I don't have a number handy). I paid the deposit, selected a post-pay plan and they gave me a new SIM card. When I got home last night, I backed up the data on the phone, popped in the new card, re-set the phone and ran through a sync. iTunes took me through the activation process again and once it was done, there was the Edge network, running like nothing ever happened.
There is one thing I still have to tackle: Making sure the Go Phone account gets inactivated. Given my experiences with AT&T so far, I'm sure
that process is going to be a complete joy.
Mine isn't so hot either, and my deposit was $250. You get that back -- in the form of a credit -- if you go a year with uninterrupted service.
I have yet to address what to do about the Go Phone account. I've spent enough time arguing with AT&T this week -- I think I'm going to take a few days off before I tackle that one.
Just to reiterate for those of you just joining us, Go Phone (Non-Subscription based) users in the U.S. are unable to get through the Edge network to the internet, thus making anything internet related on the iphone inoperable. This has been ongoing the past five days and there is still no ETA for a fix.
You can and should call them and ask for your 19.99 back for this month of the data plan as its going on a week now without said service.
