HERE IS THE WAY TO SEND A BULK TEXT MESSAGE USING THE IPHONE

Alright...the previous reply is correct, you cannot send a bulk text message using the SMS option on the phone....HOWEVER, (read carefully) if you are texting people with AT&T then you can create an e-mail address for them as follows. number@txt.att.net when you send them an e-mail to this address, it will show up on the other persons phone as a text message. Then when they reply it comes to you as an e-mail. I use this and I am no longer charged for text messages because I am using e-mail.

HERE IS THE ADDRESS IF YOU HAVE, ATT, ALLTEL, T-Mobile OR VERIZON
AT&T number@txt.att.net
alltel number@message.alltel.com
Verizon number@vtext.com
T-Mobile number@tmomail.net

So, if you want to send a bulk message, add these e-mails to your contacts, then send a bulk e-mail and they will all get a text message!

Aside from having to know all the suffixs, the problem with trying to do that is they cannot reply directly to it. It will come from the provider and they will have to remember not to try to reply but start a new txt back to talk with you....so just more work.

That is incorrect. I hate when people reply and do not know what they are talking about. I have been doing this for 3 months, when they reply, it comes back to your e-mail. It is completely possible to have a 2 way conversation. This is not different from email or text messaging.

Why don't you try it before you comment on it.

Actually I sat here and did exactly that to my phone and my wifes and I could not reply.

Sorry you feel the need to go to attack mode so quick on strangers when you are the one that asked if others found it helpful. Good luck having a happy life.

I'm going to have to go with robert.garrett on this one. I just tried it to my Verizon Motorola Razr and it worked fine. I was able to just hit reply and it put in the email address that I send the text message from.

However, when I tried sending it to my iPhone phone number, the id of where it came from was a wierd number, like 010-1001. For the iPhone I couldn't reply because there is no way to reply to an SMS message

You are right. I noticed that when I text my wife the person the e-mail came from is strange. However, this is a nice feature to have on a phone that will not allow a bulk text message. The best thing is that the messages are free, and if you want you can just send them from a computer rather than from the phone. If you have an iphone and send the message from the phone's e-mail, the message is free for the sender. Then when the person reply's that incoming message is also free for the iphone holder.

Well I tried it differently. I sent a message to my phone using the address provided. It came out as a text just fine. I then hit reply on the phone and typed a message, and tada, comes out on my email even though the from is that funky 1(010)100-001

I'm in the UK, do know if this way of texting is available through O2? If so do you know the suffix to use or how I can find out?

Hi I discovered that you need to have call forwarding switched off for this feature to work. Once I did this I could make and receive two calls at same time. Hopefully this should work for you also???

I think the suffix is

number@o2.co.uk I got that from their website under the "messaging" tab

try it...let me know if it works. If not I will keep looking.

number@o2.co.uk did not work and am trying number@o2.com

What I did find was that if you log into o2.co.uk you can send up 10 free txts to multiple numbers with the option of purchasing another 30 for £1.50 = 5p per txt.

number@o2.com doesn't appear to work either.
