Epson SP RX680

I recently bought the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 printer and upon installing the software, leopard said it couldn't find the drivers when i went to add it. Considering the printer came with a sheet of paper saying it was Leopard ready i gave it the benefit of the doubt and downloaded the new drivers from the epson website. Even after installing these new drivers, which epson says should work with leopard, Leopard still can't seem to find the drivers for it. Scanner works fine its just the printer drivers.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times to no avail. If anybody knows a solution, please help.

thanks.

I read the original posting from a CompUSA store that I work at. I'm a retail marketing representative for Epson.

I purchased a new iMac three weeks ago, and opted for a Epson CX7400 printer in the rebate program. The printer worked great under OS X Tiger system.

This past Thursday I finally received the Leopard up-date program from Apple.

Shortly after installation I tried to print a document, only to find that the CX7400 would not print.

I removed the Epson software, re-installed it again. Received an error message stating that the "Print Queue" was not installed, and said to refer to documentation. WHAT DOCUMENTATION????

Next, I went to the Epson Web site, and downloaded the latest drivers. This has to be the answer....NOT!! I have removed and installed all of the above 3-4x with no results.

I'm going to follow the information on the You Tube video, and pray for a resolution.

If you follow carefully the steps it should work for you also.
Just read the results form others in this thread and you'll see that the procedure works for the RX680.
Don't forget to go first to the Epson site and download the last driver for your printer, installed it and then follow the YouTube instructions.
After you install the Epson driver, it WON'T show on the printer list UNTIL you follow those steps.
Try again and let me know.

Good luck.

Ok.... I got mine working!!! Here's what I did...First Off I had all the Leopard Drivers already installed...I UNPLUGGED the usb cable from the Mac....then removed the RX680 from the Printer List in the Print & Fax Pref Pane.... Then I Ran the CDROM again and let it tell me the drivers were already there or unneeded...then When I hit Finish it asked me to plug in the RX680...Voila! it worked Checked the back in the Print & Fax Pref Pane and the driver was chosen for me.... So I was weary of it just being a downgrade so I ran the Leopard update again and it said it was already installed....

Sooooo.... I hope this helps U.. the key seems to be the unplugging and the let the CDRom Installer tell U when to plug it in.....GOOD LUCK!!!

I just bought an Epson CX7400 yesterday. The You Tube video doesn't work for me because everytime I deselect the printer NO PRINTER appears in the add a printer box and I am unable to enter any printer data whatsoever (it just keeps giving me the "boing" sound.) The only thing I have had happen so far is either: (1) print a blank page; or (2) "communication error." Now I have to go through this process of finding and adding the printer another complicated way - - I have virtually no tech saavy. Anyone have any suggestions other than the video?
