iPhone ringtones

did u mean : you dont see the ringtones on the phone or in the itunes or both???

hi.. i already manage to put the ringtone on the itune i can play it too, but after syncing itune will tell me that i cannot sync this ringtone because iphone cannot play it. hope you have solution for this.

OK please advise me how to create a ringtone for my iPhone.

I have an unprotected song which I want to shorten to about 25 secs.

-What program should I use to shorten the file?
-What format should the file be to use in itunes/iphone?
-How do I use it as a ringtone in my iPhone?

you can follow the instruction above this discussion from "alphastream" but i used nero wave editor to shorten the music. here's how i did:

1. open an mp3 file from nero wave editor.
2. save it as wave file.
3. remove unwanted part of the song by selection and pressing cut icon.
4. constantly play the remaining section to check you are cutting the right part.
5. save the file but this time chose mp3 extension file. Nero will do the decoding

then go back on top of this discussion to do the rest on the instruction.

I don't have nero, is there another program I can download to do this?

Can I also use any song editor from download.com to get the song to the 25 secs I want, and follow w/ever is listed in the 1st post?

u can use any kind ofwave editor but make sure u have a mp3 to wave converter and vice versa

I just cut a 30 second piece from one of my unprotected songs that I wanna use as a ringtone on my iPhone. -- It is in mp3 format, so can I import into iTunes and use it as a ringtone for my iPhone?

I will be using iTunes 7.5

You have to convert it to the ringtone format and then drop it into the ringtone folder first.

How would I do that?

I used Windows Movie Maker to edit and create my custom ringtones....or should I say, my 14 year old 'brainiac' son did it for me! He did the conversion and all, as I'm not quite as computer savvy as he! 🙂

Google has instructions for iTunes 7.4, but not much for 7.5. Is it even possible?
