Mail Prints Blank

I am having an email printing problem which appears to be completely random. On a laptop with system 10.4.11 when we print certain emails it only prints the header and doesn't print the content of the message. I have verified that there is no portion of the message selected (which would only print that selected area). The emails are from a variety of different accounts and includes emails that are sent and recieved, it doesn't have to be an email with an attachment, it does it when there is no attachment sometimes also. It happens with about 5% of the emails, once we try printing it again most of the time it prints. Not always.

Hello everyone confounded by this problem... My Tech friend stopped by the office where I have been having the same printing issue. He checked this and that, and we came to following conclusion.

The printing error only happens when I don't allow the print dialogue box to fully load. I usually keystroke the print command, hit return immediately and jump outta my chair. The error also occurred when i chose the command from the file menu, and again, impatiently slapped the return key.

So just slow down, whether you keystroke or choose from the file menu. Let the print dialogue load, then smack return and jump out of your chair.

Best of luck.
I hope it really is as simple as this.

I've had a user with this problem also. Apparently waiting for the Print Dialog to fully load as suggested has solved the problem for them. I also submitted it to Bug Reporter, I had submitted it as a 10.4 bug, but got the message below today.

This is a courtesy email regarding Bug ID# 5679478. We believe this
issue has been addressed in Mac OS X Client 10.5.1, build 9B18.
Please verify with this release, and update this report with your
results.

AGAIN THE FIX IS:....
as from 'nickeatsapples'
"wait for the print window to load, count to 3 and press print", if you do like we all do and go 'command-p' then 'return' really fast it will print the header only. if however you go'command-p' wait for the print pane to fully view, then 'return' all your problems will be solved...

once again thank you nickeatapples and your tech friend!... you guys rock
