Yes they will.

This is incorrect. You cannot return an iPod with engraving and get your money back simply because you no longer want it.
When ordering, Apple clearly states that custom orders (such as engraving on iPods and non-standard configurations on computers) are not returnable.

-> Apple Store Returns & Refunds
"If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may be eligible to return the item for a refund.
Returns policy

Returns are subject to Apple's Sales and Refunds Policy. You have up to 14 days from the time you receive your item(s) to initiate a return. For products purchased between October 31, 2007 - December 24, 2007, you may request an RMA by January 8, 2008. A 10% restocking fee will be assessed for opened items. Shipping fees are not refundable.

Items that cannot be returned include:

1. Product that is custom configured to your specification
2. Opened memory
3. Opened software*
4. Electronic software downloads
5. Engraved iPods
6. Software Up-to-Date Program Products (software upgrades)
7. Apple Gift Cards
8. Apple Gift Packaging (origami style gift box with ribbon and greeting card)
9. Apple Developer Connection Products (Membership and Technical Support)"

1 You cant upgrade the memory any tampering by opening the ipod will void your warranty. Also it likly damage your ipod.

What you can do is sell your ipod touch and then buy a ipod classic since those have a larger memory. Nut then you should have done that first off if you knew you needed alot of memory,Sell the touch and buy a classic

What about those of us who don't care if we void our warranty, and are ok with the risk of damaging our iPods? I'll bet it IS possible, so don't say it's not just because it will void your warranty. Some of us are ok with that. So, does somebody actually know if it is possible to upgrade the memory yourself? Would the touch even recognize the additional memory?

if u can afford to throw and ipod out the window and make a bet it will be caught in a safety net then thats fine
go ahead
but if it doesnt work for you thats too bad
this is purely a warning.
buts it true that if it was possible to use a 32 GB then apple would have.

besides, you might be able to install 32 Ggs but u might find other problems like over heating or something similar.

No, it's not. Not even close. If you believe Apple releases the absolute best it can at the point in time, I have a bridge to sell you. Like every manufacturer, they release what will make profits. 32 is most certainly possible. The cost is prohibitive, but if Apple wanted to release a 32Gb Touch tomorrow, they could.

As to the OP, yes, if you have the manufacturing capabilities that Apple does, and the wholesale connections, sure, you can upgrade to 32Gb. As for doing it in your home? Best of luck. The Touch IS a pretty paperweight.
