NOTHING happens when I plug ipod into my computer

I've tried a different cable, tried plugging into all 3 different usb ports, and also plugged it into my laptop. Nothing happens. It doesn't come up in Windows Explorer either. I know it's charged because it's been sitting in a docking station for the past few days. It works fine and nothing else seems to be wrong with it. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Back up the music, reinstall iTunes...

1. Don't use the front thumb port. Use a rear port for the Nano.
2. Don't connect them simultaneously.

Hi Everyone!!! Musicluvert112 gave me the solution!! Thank you. It was a matter of rebooting and now it works like before. Thanks again!!!! (Hold down menu button and center button at the same time)
