I edited the BTConduit plist in TextEdit and saved as plain text unicode 8. The phone appeared in the Bluetooth menu like this (Norwegian system):
Enhetsnavn: K750i

Enhetsadresse: 00-0f-de-9b-b7-17
Enhetstype: Telefon
Enhetstjenester: , OBEX SyncML Client, Dial-up Networking, Serial Port, HF Voice Gateway, HS Voice Gateway, OBEX Object Push, OBEX File Transfer, OBEX IrMC Sync Server, Mouse & Keyboard

Hello,

got my new SE k750i yesterday and connected it to my PB with Tiger, everything worked fine, but:

1) The birthday entries from the adress book do not appear in my mobile phone using iSync, but they do appear if i copy all entries via bluetooth from adressbook to the mobile.

2) When I copy mp3 files using bluetooth data-exchange tool from tiger, i always get this ._ copies and an DS-Store file, how can i avoid this.

Thanx

It doesn't work for me either! I've done the modifications to iSync and can pair the phone from the phone and the Mac. It adds it to iSync ok but everytime I try to do the first sync, it says up "Resetting Contacts" - "Getting changes" then does nothing for ages and then a window pops up saying "The connection was lost while talking to the device".

The phone at this point still thinks it is syncing and I have to cancel it. Then without restarting the phone I can't get it to do anything except get the message about couldn't contact the server.

My K750i came from the O2 network in the UK.

I can send my contacts as a .vcf file from Address Book with Bluetooth File Exchange. Can't get my calendars on any way at all.

Sorry about the gibberish in my last post. After a bit of trouble, I have got it half way synced.

When I synced the first time, all the telephone numbers in the phone was copied to adress book, which was fine. But when editing an entry in adress book and resyncing, the entry is removed from the phone! Turning off adress book syncing stopped the problem - but of course also the syncing.

iCal syncing was more successful. At first, the time zone settings was not the same on the phone and the mac - which caused the times to be wrong when syncing. I fixed the time zones and turned off daylight savings on the phone. Now the hours are the same on the phone and in adress book. However, it seems that the phone´s calendar has problems with conflicting appointments. Some events are mysteriously erased, probably because there is an all-day event the same day.

I tried the same plist hack at work, but it didn´t work on my G4 quicksilver (running the same system as my iMac). Maybe it´s because I mailed the BTConduit.plist file from my iMac to the Quicksilver. The file may be damaged by mail compression - or maybe the Quicksilver requires a slightly different file.

What I do now, is publish my work calendar file at www.icalx.com next subscribe to it at home - then sync with the phone at home.

Jan Erik
