iTunes 7.6 No Audio When Playing a Music Video or Movie

I just installed iTunes 7.6.0.29 (It was released today).

There is no audio when playing a music video or a movie that I've purchased. Movie trailers and music videos in the iTunes store have no audio either. Videos from iTunes University that I've downloaded (such as an MIT lecture) play fine w/ audio.

Music audio (such as tracks I've purchased or tracks on the iTunes store) play fine.

QuickTime videos, such as a QT video on my desktop play fine. Windows Media Player works fine too.

So, why don't music videos and movies play (w/audio) on iTunes 7.6??

Same problem here. No audio on any purchased TV shows, music videos, or video trailer previews since 7.6 upgrade. Isn't that just fantastic. You think I would have learned by now. Another MAJOR problem with an ITunes update! his needs to be fixed ASAP since a downgrade of ITunes will not fix the problem.

I had a bad feeling when I saw ITunes "updating library" during the 7.6 update! That's what it was doing....messing up the audio on video files!

Just got off the phone with apple support after a 45 minute wait. Her reply was this is the first time they have heard of this and the only sollution is to go to the support site for itunes and send them an e-mail as she could not help. Spent the next 20 minutes trying to navigate to the location she gave me to send an email but gave up finally. Glad I have had this experience with Apple support BEFORE I bought the imac we were planning on though !

I kick myself now because I swore I would never again update ANY apple firmware or software until I waited to see if there were bugs. When I checked however the lead pages on the discussion forms I could not see any problems cropping up so I thought it was safe. Funny how the bugs always seem to appear/be worse when an upgrade is made that involves more ways to spend money on itunes or new products with little regard for people who have already bought or are ususing products that are finally working correctly. Little seems to be done now to IMPROVE the older products in any way only to get more money

I also have the same problem here. No audio on any purchased TV shows, music videos, or video trailer previews since 7.6 upgrade. Surely this is a problem associated with iTunes update.
I haven't tried System restore to yesterday due to other comments about all files will only associate with the new 7.6 version.
ITunes "updating library" prompt has occured on previous updates so this shouldn't be an issue.
Come on Apple sort this out and roll out a fix immediately....

According to a reply in this thread (from an Apple representative maybe?), they are looking into this issue. I too have no sound from Movies, TV, music videos, and some podcasts in iTunes. My previous post, which Apple called a "rant", was removed from the discussion forum. Their products are made in China, so perhaps they are picking up some bad habits from the intolerant Chinese. So, rest assured, there are Apple people monitoring these posts. They hear your pain...and are listening, I think.

About 8 months ago they upgraded to ver 7 and video went all to ****. I was so ticked off with them that I quit buying product and canceled my order for a pod. Against my better judgement, I gradually crept back in - bought huge in shows again and POW. They did it to me again. I only have one more thing to say about this FUBAR kids. Unbox.

When I transferred the purchased video files to a video ipod (I did NOT update the firmware as iTunes recommended), they played fine, full sound. So it is just a software glitch with 7.6 and Quicktime.

Seriously, I know they wanted to get the movie rental function out the door ASAP but no sound on video? They couldn't test for this??
