Error 5002

Every time I try opening my iTunes store I get "Error 5002" Does anyone know what this is about and what can I do?

Thank you.

What the heck!? I upgraded our Itunes last week and now get the 5002 error message whenever I try to access our shopping cart. A lot of good that "upgrade" did me! So what if I can buy directly? My boys like to use the cart to select songs: I preview, then go ahead and order. If I can't use the shopping cart, we're outta here. Amazon, or wherever else, here we come.
We didn't have that many songs, maybe 20 in the cart? Why should they have to clear that and make me start over? Too much for Apple to handle?
It took me two reluctant years for my boys to convince me to convert to Apple & Itunes. They're about to undo that in 1 week. Apple! C'mon, you can do better than this! How hard can it be? Get this fixed!

The 5002 error normally occurs when an item in your shopping cart becomes no longer available in the Itunes store. For some unknown reason, this locks up the cart. An item can become unavailable for any number of reasons. This has happened to me twice. There is no known fix which works for everybody (except having Apple reset your cart.) Some of the tips I've een listed in this thread do work sometimes.

One helpful tip I learned is to use a "wishlist" playlist: set up a playlist called "Wishlist" and instead of adding items you are thinking about purchasing to your shopping cart, simply add them to your wishlist playlist. Do not add them to your shopping cart until you are absolutely sure you are going to purchase them. Of course, this playlist will not show up on your Ipod. You can add an unlimited number of items to it though.
