Who imports to iMovie from VCR video - what do you use as av link?????

I've bought an ADS Pyro AV link, but maybe something works better for you? What do you use to transfer old VCR videos to iMovie???????

To get your VHS video into iMovie, look at the Canopus ADVC300. Audio and Video go in, FireWire comes out. It also comes with a nice Macintosh application that works flawlessly with iMovie 06 and iDVD 08 (not sure about iMovie 08).

The program that comes with the ADVC300 has some nice filters that can improve video and audio of the source material. The ADVC300 will take Audio and Video from any source and convert it to FireWire (iMovie will treat it like a camera).

So, if I get a Canopus 110, then I will be able to go from VCR to Canopus to Mac (importing to iMovie? Then I can edit all of my videos????? The Canopus WILL work better?

Yes, as long as you can connect the VCR to the Canopus.

I do this with a SCART to RCA lead, obtainable 'anywhere'.

I had 15 years of family movies saved to video tape transferred to iMovie this way.

55 DVDs later, it is still working!
