iTunes Gift Card Not Working

Having same problem. Posted to support page last night and got this response this morning:

Hmm, I wonder if this has anything to do with the Internet outage that struck India, Asia, the Middle East and Northern Africa yesterday. Maybe the verification process Apple uses is done overseas?

Just got an email from iTunes store support saying that my code was a valid code. So,I typed it in and still nothing. I sent a reply explaining that it did not work. Hopefully, they'll just start crediting our accounts with the values of the cards we purchased. I want to buy music!!!! They're not letting me! ARRGGGGGGHHHHH!

Anyway, I hope that the issue is resolved soon because there's a digital copy of the new Mars Volta with my name on it.

I've been having a similar problem. I received a $50 card for xmas back in 2006. I figured maybe it was too old, but i looked it up and it has to be 2 years. Anyway i'm glad im not the only one. I contacted apple as well. When they get back to me i will post a response.

Just got off the phone with an Apple rep - after being put on hold, I was told that this is an issue Apple is currently working on and to try redeeming my cards in a day or two...

You'd think a note would be posted somewhere or the redeem option should be greyed out to indicate a problem or a different message to pop up rather than the number is invalid.

I'm having the same problem too. But when I go for help, ITunes won't even let me register a complaint. Anyone else having that problem?

Yep, my codes just went through. Hope everyone else has the same success.

Ok so i have been trying all day and have also tried 3 different cards today and have had zero success. I also called "support" about 10 min. ago and they said they are having difficulties but we should be able to get our cards to go through by tonight or tomarrow. Hopefully this is true because I have no patience for this stuff. I hope for those of you who are like me that this may put you at ease.

Finally got mine to work - unfortunately for me, I don't have patience for this sort of stuff either.

HEY ALL! It was driving me crazy, but i got it. try this: If the letters are in caps, put on caps lock and type the numbers with it on too. I tried to enter my number about 50 times, and finally this is what seemed to work. Maybe they should add that little tidbit to the directions?

Oh, maybe I'm not so brilliant and they just fixed the glitch on their end. I'll just keep pretending I figured it out myself 😉

You know what? The code worked today!

Just that now it's telling me it's already been redeemed!

This is such a nightmare ... and my first time trying to buy music online too. I think I'll take this as a lesson and consider the 1500 yen I paid as gone and stick to CDs from now on.

BTW ... is anyone from Apple even reading these discussions? I have a feeling it's users helping users only, and they just leave you to your own devices to solve things.

I'm going to the MacBook Air's press launch now ... and being scammed by iTunes and cheated of my money is NOT the best mood to go to a launch in.
