I recently purchased several cards for iTunes. None of them worked. I had a $25 a $15 and another $15 and NONE of them worked.
If somebody could tell me that they are having the same problem, or if there is a solution to this please reply.
I feel like such a moron. I have a $30 gift card with a code. I'm trying to redeem it and I can't find a 'redeem' or 'account' tab anywhere in iTunes.
I'm especially embarrassed because I thought I was pretty proficient with iTunes and I've redeemed cards before. The only thing is that I've only ever done it with electronic cards and never input an actual code.
Never mind. Thanks Niel. I just figured it out thanks to the page you recommended. I wish 'help' had directed me to that page initially, I'd probably still have a lot more of my hair.
i had the same problem with a gift card that I received for Christmas. This is how I got it to work -
When I tried to redeem on iTunes, I got the "code not recognized" message. I checked to make sure the code was entered correctly - It was.
Keep pressing "redeem" and after about 7-10 times, i got dropped in a window that asked for the upc code. Entered that, my itunes password and presto! Account credited for $25 - the amount of the gift card.
Since I didn't enter the actual amount, they must have had this gift card code somewhere in their records. Still not sure why it doesn't take the code at first.
Anyway, try this if you're having problems redeeming a retail iTunes gift card
Our gift card from Christmas is STILL not working. I don't get the error code that all of you have gotten though, mine says, "Your request could not be completed, make sure your computers date is set correctly (which it is) and that it accepts cookies from the iTunes music store.
