Internet Radio on Apple TV...

...there is one feature I still miss on atv with the new software update to come which are the internet radio stations you can listen to on iTunes.

It would be great if they also made this available dircetly on the atv, which is connected to my home audio system, so I can listen to internet radio without turning on my computer.

That is just what I discovered. I shut down iTunes and my internet radio station kept playing. The issue is that the "songs" disappear once you stop playing it on the AppleTV. To restart it you have to open up iTunes again. Minor inconvenience but as I have a MBP I don't want to have to depend upon streaming. But, at least we have this.

Another solution that you may consider is Airfoil by Rogue Amoeba. It allows you to redirect sound output generated from specific applications to any available device (e.g., another computer on your network, a Airport Express, or an Apple TV). Handy if you prefer, like me, a flash/browser based internet radio service like Pandora.

I was very excited after upgrading to V2 to find that playlists of streaming radio stations worked perfectly, with or without the computer left on. However after rebuilding my music library, rebooting, and resyncing my ATV, every playlist with radio stations in it now displays "There are no songs in this playlist."

If yours is still working, don't reboot your ATV or you'll probably lose "computer-less" streaming, too.

Re-read the earlier posts on this list... Steve and another have correctly noted what seems to be happening:

1. You can create a playlist (e.g. "Radio") in iTunes and add Internet Radio Stations to the list
2. It will sync with Apple TV
3. You can find and play the Internet Stations on your Apple TV ONLY when iTunes is open on your Mac/PC.
4. If iTunes is turned off, the playlist "Radio" disappears from your AppleTV list until you turn iTunes back on.

Weird and a bit inconvenient.

Dudes and Dudettes,

There is definitely something weird going on with the Internet Radio Playlists on Apple TV. Yesterday I created playlists with Radio stations in them. Streamed and listened to them all night long. Worked like a charm! I was excited, love the streaming channels that are offered in itunes. Today booted up my computer and let it sync to the apple tv... and now all of those playlists are empty. They play on the computer through itunes, but not on apple tv. I synced and re-synced and then tri-synced and still nothing. I created new playlists with a few new stations in them along with a few of the old ones that I enjoyed yesterday. ONLY THE NEW STATIONS show up on the apple tv... NONE of the stations that I listened to previously are available. They don't even show up. It is as if they are BLOCKED! This is extremely weird and frustrating. Any thoughts, any one? Any one?
