PocketMac GoBetween for Lotus Notes

PocketMac has released PocketMac GoBetween for Lotus Notes, an iSync add-on which allows users to synchronize contacts between the Address Book and Lotus Notes, and events and tasks between iCal and Lotus notes.

While bidirectional synchronization is standard, selectable options allow users to overwrite data in one environment or the other, ignore completed tasks or tasks older than a user selectable value, and to determine which data types will be synchronized. If you are familiar with e2Sync as an extension of iSync for Entourage users, you will find the interface of PocketMac GoBetween for Lotus Notes familiar.

Pricing is set at $ 24.95 and a copy can be ordered at the PocketMac page linked above.

Just keeping this alive - I am like all other poor buggers; my error is "Failed to start Lotus Notes server".

A week or so ago, support sent me a new LNDOServer file which I should replace in the application package. Which I did, but had absolutely no improvement.

Methinks they should stop selling a flawed product, as it seems pretty obvious it does not work for anyone!

After several weeks waiting for an answer of my trouble ticket, they have closed the request for about two weeks. I asked them "why", because there is no solution for the corresponding problem. Last week I received their answer:

"A closed request does not mean the issue is solved. Our developers are working to address this problem.
I have your email address and will notify you when the next update is available. We hope to have an update available within two months."

Should we really see a working release in July?
The hope never dies!

Does anyone know if there is ANY other software that will actually perform this function as described? I am REALLY surprised that this company decided to release this software without testing. I have yet to hear that its working for anyone.

Shady business practices at best. I would like to be able to say I found different software and then start the relief effort of trying to get my money back. I have a feeling there is a small chance in **** of that happening.

Hi All,

Bit frustrating this sync stuff and gobetween.

For calendar I'm now doing the following:
1) In Notes make export of calendar file (be sure have all items tab open) in ics format
2) double click on the ics-file and it opens in iCal
3) accept in calendar in iCal
4) export in iCal the calendar file (other name)
5) import that file in Notes

Problem is when calendar has more than 500 items, meaning I need to archive 2007 etc.
Works as a sync, and I'm working now to make an Automator so it is a push of button. Issue currently to make a good Automator.
I will try similar for adressbook items.

Not ideal but it should work until the gobetween issues are solved to have synced data between iCal / Notes / iPhone (can't wait for 3G 😉 )

Boy do I wish I had read all of this before purchasing....

I now have two tickets outstanding:
1) Password issue - Workaround - After setting "Don't prompt for password from other Notes-based programs (reduces security)", and ensuring Notes is open during Sync I get further, but the app then crashes and after relaunch I get
2) Date issue - No workaround yet

I have a feeling that a lot of this is down to Notes versions and Language settings. Mine are:
Notes: 7.0.3
GoBetweenLNISync: 4.0.2
UK English

Ticket responses from PocketMac have been good, but no resolution and just the response:
"We are working on an update for this. I will let you know when the update is available. I do apologize for the inconvenience."

Looks like the issues have been around for nearly 3 months now. Thats a long time for some serious issues!

Anyone who is using this product ok, can you post versions and language??

Good luck everyone - I'll keep poking support for a little while longer before asking for my money back.
