PocketMac GoBetween for Lotus Notes

PocketMac has released PocketMac GoBetween for Lotus Notes, an iSync add-on which allows users to synchronize contacts between the Address Book and Lotus Notes, and events and tasks between iCal and Lotus notes.

While bidirectional synchronization is standard, selectable options allow users to overwrite data in one environment or the other, ignore completed tasks or tasks older than a user selectable value, and to determine which data types will be synchronized. If you are familiar with e2Sync as an extension of iSync for Entourage users, you will find the interface of PocketMac GoBetween for Lotus Notes familiar.

Pricing is set at $ 24.95 and a copy can be ordered at the PocketMac page linked above.

PocketMac has released a new software product!!! No, not a utilisable version of GoBetween for Lotus Notes (as far as I know). I'm waiting (as many others in this forum) since month of a bugfix/upgrade.
PocketMac now offers "PocketMac for iPhone"! My question: New product - same problems? Is there anyone who will spend money ($29.95) for a licence to test it? Here's the web site: http://www.pocketmac.com/product.php?id=27#()

This is pretty outrageous. Either:

1) They are using the same interface between their sync engine and Lotus Notes that is being used by Gobetween for Lotus Notes, in which case this new product is just as broken as the old one.

2) They have fixed the interface between their sync engine and Lotus Notes, in which case why on earth haven't they released a new version of Gobetween?

It's hard to see how they can justify taking more money off people when they still haven't fixed things up for those of us who already paid. A long long time ago, in many cases.

This does sound like a pre-release-alpha-not-for-public-consumption software. I managed to get it sync after trying a few things and reading this post.

I have Lotus Notes 8.5 Beta 2 and PocketMac GoBetween for Lotus Notes 4.0.2.

Here are my findings:

- If your OS is not set to English, forget it, it won't work. Go to System Preferences > International and change your language and date format settings to English.
- You need the Lotus Notes application running when doing a sync.
- In Lotus Notes, make sure you have File > Security > User Security > Don't prompt for a password... checkbox checked
- If you have foreign characters in your contacts, beware: synchronization will change them to weird 2-character strings like "é"...
- If you are having difficulties configuring the Lotus Notes SyncManager component like I had (i.e., it hangs when trying to find categories for contacts), open ActivityMonitor and try to kill hung apps (usually, a second instance of Lotus Notes)

Good luck (you will need it...)

I have the same problems everyone else has. Very frustrating but I can now get the addresses to sync. A post for Calendar from Frank - mac, June 19th 2008 has a way to easily put your calendar items into Ical. Until PocketMac gets their act together this is the best I have seen to get the Calendar from Lotus Notes into Ical. I use Missing sync to put the information on my blackberry. Very good and slick. Too bad they can't make something to sync with Lotus Notes.
