How do you change User Agent in Safari?

In Firefox there is a plugin that can be downloaded and disguises the Browser as IE for IE only websites. Does Safari have the same capabilities and how is it done.

powerbook g4, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Now when I go to .mac it is saying I don't have the correct browser & I am using Safari 3.x and the user agent is on automatic. Apple seems unable to recognise it's own software.
