So why does my iPhone vibrate twice at boot?

My wife and I both have 16G iPhones, but for some reason when mine boots from power off, upon joining the AT&T network it vibrates twice in quick succession while hers does not.

No difference in any settings I saw right off hand.

Anyone know why?

Just a thought: Is your phone in silent-mode (switch on side of phone) while hers is not?

relax guys, this is completly normal behaviour.

your iphone does not vibrate on boot, your iphone just vibrates when you connect it to a power adapter. and if your iphone was turned off and you turn it on while it is connected to the power, it recognizes that connection and therefore vibrates to indicate it. that's all there is to know 🙂

Reread the post just above your reply.

When I connected my wife's iPhone to the power adapter and booted it, it did not vibrate twice when it came up.

The only difference is that the battery charge on mine was reported as below full, and hers was listed as fully charged, so there's more to it than just connecting the power adapter.

I'm not sure that's it. I leave my iPhone charging overnight, so when it boots on the dock (plugged into charger), it is fully charged. And I constantly get two vibrates every morning.

I have a friend staying with me right now and he has a (close to) launch iPhone, and it also vibrates twice on boot. His also vibrates every time no matter if the battery is fully or not fully charged.

So why does my iPhone vibrate twice at boot?
