I see I'm not the only one tearing my hair out over the Tiger/6110 issue (I recently upgraded to 10.4.4 from 10.2.8). I, too, unintalled, reinstalled, downloaded, rebooted, changed settings, and changed USB cables -- anything and everything suggested everywhere, to no avail.
Paul, thanks for the "Fast Normal" and setting suggestions. This is the only solution suggested in the forum that I tried that actually now allows me to print e-mails and web pages without the tops getting cut off or blank pages flying out. At least I can now print somewhat normally again, albeit I have to be mindful of the right settings when I do.
I haven't had a problem printing from any of the Microsoft Office applications so far. I did have problems with PDF/Adobe which works intermittently.
I've been having a "lively" spat with a support rep at HP for the last two days, via e-mail (you'll notice that "Live" tech support isn't available for us Mac people, and we're only offered e-mail and phone; they fail to tell you that the phone costs $60 for 30 minutes of help! We can all buy new printers for that.)
The HP people are saying they are really "working on it" and that we should all just keep checking the HP site for updates. They claim that it's been hard keeping up with their software updates because Apple keeps coming out with new updates for Tiger. They also claim it's not just an HP problem -- that other company's printers are having similar issues with Tiger. Whatever. It's a shame because the upgraded features in the software (for scanning, copying, HP Image, etc., are pretty cool).
You'd think given how powerful and influential Steve Jobs is these days, he could force his hand with product companies that treat Mac users like red-headed stepchildren.

P.S. One last question to anyone reading: How to you stop from having your printing pages from being printed in reverse order? This has happened since I installed the new printer software. I keep checking the settings, but the printer seems to have a mind of it's own on this. Any suggestions?
