Printing/Tiger/HP 6110 AIO

I have no problems printing/scanning, etc. from the 6110. The only major issue was printing from the website or with small margins.

If you haven't already done this you can try the following:

1. unplug the printer usb cable.

2. Delete the old drivers.

3. Reset your unit:
a. Turn off the unit using the On button located on the unit’s front panel.
b. Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit.
c. Plug the power cord back into the unit.
d. Turn on the unit using the On button.

4. plug the printer back in.

5. Reinstall the new driver from HP's website.

I would also run Disk Utility and fix the permissions, once after uninstall and another time after reinstall. HP software loves to mess with permissions it seems.

I was having the same problems with blank and incomplete pages on my tiger/wired hp6110 combo. Changing the page margins was no help.

Changing the driver to the HP deskjet 600/600c gimp print ver 5.0.0 beta 2 did restore printing web pages but at the cost of unacceptable slowness. I find this solution an unacceptable compromise.

Are there any more elegant solutions out there, has a permanent fix been developed?

having similar problems with the HP7200 All-in-One..."Printer Setup Utility has Unexpectedly Quit" when trying to add a printer...any progress on your side?

I don't know how you figured it out, but you are a Godsend. This problem was absolutely ridiculous and caused many meltdowns on my part. Why this driver works is lunacy and HP should be notified of this fix as well as their technical ignorance in trying to resolve this matter.

If you read through the postings, you'll see references to changing the print quality to "Fast normal". I have had very good luck with this setting and have been trying to make a habit of always changing this print setting, and haven't had any problems printing for the last month.

Im having the same problems, multiple pages while trying to print webpages. I can print perfectly fine with Opera while the same pages give problems in other browsers such as safari and firefox.

Can someone else try this out and see if it works?

I've had this problem forever, too, and had it "fixed" with GIMP drivers for the last year or so, which ***** because the print quality isn't as good and it's very slow.

However, I checked for new drivers at the HP site this weekend, and they just released a new Universal binary for the 6110 at version 7.9, and to my amazement, when I installed the new drivers, printing was restored!!! Goodbye to cursing at my computer/printer while it spits out blank pages for no good reason.

Also, it seems that they've updated the Scan package, and now multi-page scanning "PDF to Adobe Reader" actually works as expected, ending up in a multi-page PDF file rather than a bunch of 1-page PDF files.

Anyway, thought I'd share.

I am still having the 6110 printing problem (actually I solved it once but it's back). Did anyone find a lasting solution?

Printing 'Fast Normal' is the only solution that I've found that truly works. I've been using it ever since I saw someone else had tried. I sure hope HP/Apple fix something soon.

Thanks for the tip--someone told me about some universal printer drivers written in Linux. I tried the appropriate one and it solved my problem.
