Serial Number Not Valid?!

So, I am trying to install my logic 8 upgrade and its not taking my **** serial number? I've typed it over and over 20 different times, in different ways, caps, no caps, dashes, no dashes and nothing is working? What the **** do I do now? Is my software broken?

The 2 previous versions I had of Platinum by Emagic never said that

...because they had no such policy, and is the reason you could upgrade your Logic 6 Academic to Logic 7 Academic.

and neither did the LP7 Upgrade (Apple) box I had after those 2.
The only way to find out was online and in forums...

The Academic online stores throughout the lifespan of Logic 7 clearly stated that Academic versions are not upgradable. I have directed people to these links to show them over the lifespan of LP7 many many times - the problem being is that most people just see the low price and hit "buy" without reading anything else on the page, or doing any research first.

Interestingly, last time I looked this message wasn't posted on the Academic stores on the LP8 Academic versions, leading me to think they had changed the upgrade policy (they have also changed the pricing structure), so I'm not sure whether this policy continues to be the case for LP8 onwards - no one yet has given categoric data one way or the other so far.

Are you sure the packaging and website said that? I've heard many reports that neither did.

yup and I found them each time

Which version of the packaging, and where on the box?

I'd love to see a picture of the sticker on the Logic box that said this, it would certainly put an end to at least some parts of this debate.

While it has appeared on their website, I know there have been long periods where the website made no mention of it.

Regardless of whether Apple made this info available or not, they should at least grandfather in people who bought academic versions 6 or earlier before this policy was in place, just upgrade them to 8 retail and be done with it.
