I have (or had) two printers, an older HP laserjet 1012 and a newer HP Deskjet F380 all in one. Both worked fine when I ran OS X 10.4, but are completely unreliable with Leopard. The F380 won't print at all anymore, and the 1012 will print SOMETIMES after I ignore the warning window that comes up with each attempt to print telling me that the printer has crashed.
Reading these forums, it looks like a lot of people are having problems with printers.
I'd like to go ahead and get a new printer, and am wondering which brands and models are actually working?
The poster almost certainly meant $200 each. Check out Staples if you are interested, but hurry. Until 5/1/08, they will give a $50 trade in for any printer in any condition toward an HP printer selling for $159 or more. I just bought an HP J6480 there for a net $149.99. My trade in was broken and I didn't even have the power supply. No problem.
I have a HP 960c and a HP psc 750 that cannot be seen over my network via ethernet. They have worked in the past using Tiger. I went to the HP site and they say that all the HP drivers have been added already. I still downloaded the 960c driver with no luck getting it to work. I do have a HP 5600 that is connected via bonjour.
I have a HP PhotoSmart 7280 that can no longer be recognized once I installed 10.5.2. It worked flawlessly with Leopard. I have done everything that HP asked me to do and I cannot use the printer wirelessly. Help!!
