Boot Camp 2.1 will not install.

I keep getting this message:

"The installer encountered errors before boot camp could be configured"

Then it asks me to try again later. (I've tried it 3 times)

Hey Michael, send it to me I can take a look. I know a little bit about the Windows Installer from working at MS. Zip it up though because they can be pretty big.

I get exactly the same message as smfinlay. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Is it possible that you do not install the BootCamp on OS-X as an update, but only use it to update the Winders drivers?

Same thing here on a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro.

I believe this update is broken.

I'll download it again in about a week after Apple gets it's act together.

Did you run the Apple Software update in Winders? That's where you will find it. It's not for OS-X.

I cannot Update the BootCamp 2.1. It does nothing when I click on the downloaded update from Apple website.

I'm having the same issue. I'm hoping that there are drivers for the function control keys such as volume, brightness etc.. in this update.. anyone have those working under vista? I certainly don't.

I have the same issue, BCUpdate starting and after few second quitting and do nothing. I try install using Apple Software Update, and do nothing too, but with an error and information, that i will try install manually.

System is Windows Vista x86 SP1 any ideas ?

I get the following message:

I'm having the exact same issue. When I use Apple Software Update, I get an error installing, right after the update has completely finished downloading.
When I download the update manually from the Apple site and launch the exe. The Exe file name appears briefly in the Task Manager and then quitly disappears and nothing happens anymore.

I can't install the update either. The error I get is:

Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.

I'm having the same problem, cannot install BC 2.1(on xp). Tried it as an admin, tried it in safe mode, tried it through software update and manually. Nothing happens.

I am having the same thing. I am still on Bootcamp 1.4, as upgrade to 2.0 was also not sucessful. It failed on updating drivers for Touchpad and remote. This time I was trying to:
1. Go directly from 1.4 to 2.1 - nothing happen after doubleclick on installer
2. Upgraded from 1.4 to 2.0 (with errors for Touchpad and remote) and then to 2.1

And then "The installer encountered errors before boot camp could be configured" has showed up...
Did any of You had same problem with 2.0 as I had ?
And did any of You find a workaroud it ?
