Sagem F@ST 800

Hi there guys Ive recently taken the plunge and ordered a Mac Mini which should hopefully arrive in the next couple days. The only concern I have is will it be compatible with my current Broadband package, I currently use Tiscali 2Meg going through a Sagem F@ST 800 which connects via USB. I asked my ISP and they kindly informed me although Tiscali probably works with a Mac they offer zero support for it (nice way to treat a 5 year customer)

Oh by the way Im not sure what version of Tiger I'll be running, basically whatever it ships with

Thank you for your time.

Hi chaps with Sagem F@st 800/840 modems,
I have just solved the Tiger/Modem problem. After contacting Sagem because their driver update webpage didn't work they sent me the address:
http://lgsagem.free.fr
Natch it's in French, but intelligence solves the problem!
Choose the INT. version. Uninstall the old modem driver using the CD supplied by Tiscali. Disconnect the modem cable. Install the new driver, reconnecting the modem when prompted. Then restart as directed.
After restart, open the Sagem Modem Monitor, and click on "Configuration"
Select: ATM Channel VPI: 0 (zero)
Select ATM Channel VCI: 38
Encapsulation Type: PPPoA VCMUX
ADSL Standard: Multi Standard
Then click on "Save Changes" then you'll be prompted to Reset the Modem, So click on "Operation" at the top of the window and reset the modem. After doing so restart the computer again.
Then check your network settings and you'll find it works!!!!
Have fun,
Eric

Hi Ian,
I expect you have already found out how to load the .dmg file by now. But just in case:
Like all .dmg files, you just double click on it. It will the turn into a disc which you can find on your desktop, or if it's not there, just go to "Go" at the top of the screen, then Computer and you'll see a white pic of a disc on the lefthand side of the window. Click on that and you'll see the installer. Click on that and continue as instructed in my previous posting. IMPORTANT: Make sure that you have disconnected the modem USB cable from your computer first!
Bon chance,
Eric
