"Billing Info" loop

Whenever I try to buy a new song, I'm asked to comfirm billing info. I do, and it's accepted, then I go back to the song I want to buy, and I'm asked to confirm again.

What's going on? Why won't iTunes let me spend my money?!

what happened with mine was actually not apple's fault, although there customer service is still rubbish and they could really do with better error messages. Because of the nature of the itunes billing system (sending small packets of costs) my bank for some reason thought someone had nicked my card and was using it fraudulently. After i rang the bank up, they took down their 'firewall' which was blocking transactions from my account at that point, and i can now use itunes again. So if all else fails, ring your bank up and ask if they are blocking your card.

Katrina and others,
I am in the "billing loop" too.
I can only download free apps.
I cannot upgrade my ipod to 3.0.

Here is the note I sent to support:
Apple,
I get stuck in a "billing loop" when I try to update my ipod to 3.0.
I've tried updating my CC info. That does not work.
I tried switching to paypal. That does not work.
How about if we have a con-call to resolve this?
I can either share my screen or send you screenshots.
I doubt I'm the only 1 who has bumped into this.
I'll work with you if you want to resolve it.

Similar dramas when needing to update an expiry date on a credit card - I can add a totally different card but can't use the old one with new date. Have tried everything suggested in this thread and nothing works. The "support" you get from apple relates ONLY to the US store and is utterly useless.

How on earth do apple get away with selling defective products and expecting their customers to solve all the issues on forums like this.

Guess I'll go back to illegally downloading for free. NEVER had ANY problems with that.

Apple you are atrocious

I can't even download free apps.

the billing info apple has for me is about 3years old. I successfully change it to paypal and paypal knows this but apple doesn't seem to get the message and actually update the billing info. I've updated every other field as well.

I've had the **** phone for less than a day and if I can't actually use one of the big draw features of it I have no reason to hold onto it. Maybe I'll find out if it'll blend...

I moved last year and therefore updated all of my account information from address to credit card information. Well my entire correct address is recorded but it still shows part of my previous address and it will not save the last 3 digits of my CC every time I want to purchase something on iTunes I have to go back and change my account information and because of this issue I can not purchase anything from my iPod Touch 😟 so I am a tad bit frustrated, I am able to download and "buy" free apps but unable to purchase them without logging on to my computer and changing my account information WHAT DO I DO!!???!!?? How can I permantly save those changes???
