Rambo Digital Copy - Disk not readable with computer.

I just bought Rambo: The Complete Collector's Set today. The bonus DVD for Rambo IV contains a "Digital Copy" for iTunes and Windows Media Player and the code to transfer the movie into iTunes.

When I insert the DVD, I get the following error message "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" I tried the other DVDs in the set and they work. So the issue is either a defective DVD or an incompatible DVD drive.

My first thought was to check to see if the firmware of my DVD drive is up to date (DVD drive is a Sony DRU-830A). I checked Sony's website, and sure enough there's a firmware update for the drive. The firmware on the drive is version SS23. The current version is SS25, but I can't update the firmware since its an .exe file. So I'm back to square one. A defective DVD or incompatible DVD drive.

Just asking if anyone out there has any ideas and/or insight on this problem.

I have the exact same problem. I actually returned the first copy of the DVD to the store, but the second copy gave me the same error. I've contacted Lionsgate to ask them about this. Will keep you posted.

I bought the new Rambo DVD and have the same problem as well! "The disk you inserted is not readable by this computer".

I have no idea what's going on. I tried redeeming the code anyway through the iTunes store. It seemed to recognize the code as one being for the Rambo DVD but said "The item you tried to buy is no longer available."

I'm even more confused. Some answers to this would be great.

Just a thought.

The Canadian iTunes Music Store does not sell/rent movies yet. I am wondering if this fact has anything to do with the reason why the Digital Copy DVD won’t work. I know DVD’s have region codes, so is it possible that this Digital Copy has another flag such as a country code?

I am quit disappointed about this. I was really looking forward to this feature from Lionsgate because they make great film's. I hope this can be fixed and I am able to get my digital copy.

Is this happening to everyone trying to access the iTunes digital copy of the Rambo movie?

Don't think that's the problem. I bought Blue Harvest a while back, and the Digital Copy worked fine on that (and it went through iTunes as well).

The Digital Copy of Juno worked for me. I don't know why Rambo doesn't.

It should work now! Not the Digital Copy DVD but the code they give you with the DVD. I just went to the iTunes Store/Redeem and put in the code again and instead of saying it wasn't available I could download it. It might work for the rest of you.

Oh, I just realized something. It downloads it from the internet rather than from the disk. That's a problem for me since my internet is slow and has a cap. It'll take a whole day for me to download it and as a result my internet will max out. I hope they fix the disk!

Hey pacific-crush,

Thanks a lot it work's now! That's kind of weird it work's through the iTunes redeem code instead of putting the dvd in the computer and then it taking you there. Pretty much the same thing just missing the first step.

I tried entering the code and I got the same message saying that the item I tried to buy is no longer available. Did you do anything to get it to work?

same problem here, DVD is not readable and code says no longer available. please i bought it on blu-ray so i can only watch it in my living room so i want a copy for my computer in my room!

I also bought it on Blu-Ray. If I bought the DVD version at the very least I could easily rip it to my iTunes library. Hope somebody has some idea how to get this to work.

Hey,

I bought the blue ray disc version too, and I did what pacific-crush said. Just enter the code that was on the paper in the iTunes redeem and it worked fine for me. Have you tried bringing that copy back and get a new one with a new code? It's worth a shot I guess.

I hate it when thing's don't work. Hope you can get it on your computer soon 🙂
