OSX 10.5.3 still having kernel panic with Bluetooth audio

After upgrading to OSX 10.5.3 yesterday I thought I'd give bluetooth audio a chance again (I already had problems with 10.5.2, see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1529536&tstart=0). After a while my machine crashed again (the screen turns grey and I was instructed to hold the power button). This time I was trying to listen to iTunes over the bluetooth headphones (so the Plantronics in headphone mode).

After restarting the problem report sent to Apple is:

Is it just me who is having these problems? It really amazes me that I am just not able to use bluetooth audio - headset nor headphones - without this rather significant problem? And then I don't even begin about the mouse getting the hiccups the moment the headset is turned on. I would have expected lots of complaints about this?

I just got the Jabra bt620s headphone to listen to online webasts. It's a great product at a great price, but I have nothing but trouble trying to get it to work with my new MacBook with 10.5.5, including several crashes. I fried my previous MacBook from hitting the kill switch too many times after repeated crashes (unrelated to Bluetooth) and now I'm killing it all over again. Obviously the problem is the Mac OS not the headphones.

I can get the thing to play sometimes but there seems to be some kind of magic method to making it work properly that I can't fathom. I have to turn the headphones on, which gives me a dialogue box asking if I accept it, then if I open a window with an audio stream (usually via RealPlayer or Flash) it will not play through the headphones. I have to also go under the Bluetooth pulldown menu and click "Use Headphones". But that doesn't alway work -I either get no sound at all from either the computer or the headphones (sign of an imminent freeze) or it will play through the computer speakers, ignoring the headphones, even though the bluetooth setting is on and it's set to "Use Headphones". Sometimes it DOES work but I still can't determine just what the magic sequence is to actually make it work properly.

Can anyone give me a clue? I'm sick of experimenting around and having it crash all the time. I expected better of Apple than this! It's a new computer and the latest system.
