Keynote: Presentation mode?

Hi,
I am going to start to use Keynotes Presentation mode for my presentations. Am I able to practice with Keynote in the Presentation mode without having a second monitor hooked up? I have a Ti-book.
Thanks for any help,
Brett

Hi, Brian.

Since you're the most graded user in this post, let me annoy you a bit more.

1. Do these instructiond you gave work for iBook too?
2. Where can I find "mirroring"?
3. This patch that changes iBook behavoir about displays... do you know it? Do you think it's safe? Would you reccomend it?
4. Since Apple enabled 2 ways of putting iBook's image onto TV, monitors, or projectors, do you have any idea why there's no "regular" option to use Keynote presenter's tools? Is there any technical restrictions to laptops? Because as long as I understand, laptops are much more likely to be used in presentations than desktops.

Thanks a lot.

1. Only when you've applied the patch mentioned in #3
2. The monitors prefs, or in the Monitors menu item, if you turn it on in the Monitors prefs (system prefs>monitors). It won't show up though, until you run the patch...normally iBooks ONLY do mirroring, so you can't turn it off.
3. Apple doesn't support it, and Apple probably doesn't like us posting links to it, but it DOES work, and I know many people who have used it.
4. It's a limitation of the iBook (before the patch). Again, see #s 1, 2 and 3 🙂

OK, now I turned off mirroring, arranged the screens and now the situation is that the presenter information appears on the projector and I get the slide show on the iBook. 180 from what I want. I notice that in the preferences it says "Use alternate display to view presenter information" That seems to be the problem - I want the slide show on the projector and the presenter view on my iBook. What do I do? By the way, your help has been invaluable.
