Reading through quite a few topics on this forum, I know many people are experiencing problems with USB mixers/audio-recording devices and Macbook Pros running anything Leopard. The general consensus (which I agree with based on my own experience) is that it is a problem with the driver beginning in 10.5.
I know the 10.5.3 updates mentions a fix for video/audio USB playback problems, but has anyone using a USB device (to do podcasts, recording music, whatev) downloaded the update? Does it work? I hesitate to considering what the upgrade to Leopard did...
I am having the same problems but with an MXL USB.007 mic running under Tiger 4.11. How can I use AppleUSBAudio.kext from Tiger 4.10 as you mention in your post? Thanks!
I've been having a problem with background noise and channel separation using an external USB DAC that has worked well for ages.
Any solutions beyond asking Apple?
