ELP! keyboard problem still persists....

I don't know how many out there still have this problem

But for me, the missing first keystroke is still present after the 10.5.3 update and all the keyboard updates

It happens when the keyboard stays idle for about a minute and avoids the first key pressed afterwards

At least this was better than before when 2 or 3 or even complete words would be missing.

Now it's just one key.

Is there any more fixes I can try or does Apple think this problem is already solved?

17" 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Looks like the 10.5.5 update still does not fix this problem for me...

It's still skipping 2-3 letters everytime I type

PLEASE DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS ISSUE!

Just wanted to let you guys know I still have this problem

Right now it's skipping somewhere between 1 and 2 letters each time I write

I might be wrong but it might have something to do with idle time

The more time I spend away from the laptop, like say 5 to 10 minutes

The more letters I miss

I am having the same problem and it just started happening in the last week or so. Now when typing sometimes the cursor jumps back a whole word and starts trying to type over a previous word. Is this a bug or some weird virus type thing? I have had this laptop since April 2007 and never had a problem before now. My battery has also died without any warning on two occasions

After 2 repairs and all updates I still have the issue.
I still can't see why some have the issue and some don't

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that this problem still persists for me...

I have all the latest updates and it still skips the first letter

Very random at times

I have had an odd problem that started just about the time the warranty on my MacBook pro ran out. The upper case "d" key only works if you press the Caps Lock key. The firmware update fixed this for many months and this week, I installed the latest security update...now, i have the "d" issue again. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not entirely positive but I think it may be a software issue

I tried going on Windows XP and it seems like it works completely fine without any ignored keystrokes

Please look into this Apple

It appears that the NEW Macbook Pro is also having a bit of trouble with ignored registration of mouse clicks?

I don't know what's wrong in the code of the OS or something but I'm hoping Apple can open up the keyboard and mouse to account for EACH AND EVERY stroke

same thing here
if my MBP sits for a few minutes without using the keyboard the first character is ALWAYS skipped when I start typing again. The firmware update did nothing at all. Come on Apple, FIX THIS! Ironically, it's not an issue when booted into Windows XP.

I've had this same problem for over a year now. I'm in the habit of holding down the first key I type long enough to register but not long enough to repeat. I still use my 7 year old Powerbook for work because I can't trust this Macbook Pro to do anything with $ figures. I still have a couple years left of Apple care. The Apple store guys told me there was nothing they could do. "Just be patient, check the forums, wait for another firmware or software upgrade." Yeah right. I guess that's what I've been doing... waiting. I'm a long time loyal repeat customer that hasn't been happy about this product or the service.
