ELP! keyboard problem still persists....

I don't know how many out there still have this problem

But for me, the missing first keystroke is still present after the 10.5.3 update and all the keyboard updates

It happens when the keyboard stays idle for about a minute and avoids the first key pressed afterwards

At least this was better than before when 2 or 3 or even complete words would be missing.

Now it's just one key.

Is there any more fixes I can try or does Apple think this problem is already solved?

17" 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

We finally got the keyboard firmware update that eliminated 80% of the issue for me by everyone doing the following every 4-7 days:

Called tech support and got transfered to customer relations.

Reported the admitted bug # 4333743 top anyone willing to listen.

elp this is no fun at all, I love my MBP however typing is a basic operation and if it is not working properly you can better trow your MBP away. Frequently I am using MSN but stopped using it, all those typo's are so annoying and embarrassing.

Any new firmware updates available, since kb firmware earlier this year ?

I'm so sick of this. I told my local Apple reseller I wanted a new Mac, because of the keyboard problem. This is their response:

Hey, sorry for my late reply. So did Apple send you a new MacBook Pro? I'm afraid there isn't anything more we can do on our end, unless Apple decides to cover a repair, and sends you to us to install a part. We've diagnosed it and the hardware is fine. So it's either some kind of firmware issue they need to fix, or a flaw in the design of the keyboard, which is beyond our control. Well, let me know how it goes, thanks,

I did get a new keyboard, but the problem persists. Has anyone had their MBP replaced by Mac?

I don't buy the; "It's Not a Hardware Issue"
It is something in the makeup of certain Macbook Pros.
If it was a software only issue, then all MacBook Pro's would have the issue.
But because some have it and some don't, proves it is unique to certain Macbook Pro's Makeup.
Maybe it's a certain flaw in a 1 mbp to 10,000, and their testing equipment doesn't pick up on the issue because it doesn't know what to look for, they test the Keyboard with whatever their testing equipment can test for, and all shows fine doesn't prove anything.
So they can't find a 'Cause', The proof is in the 'Effect'
Here's ow to test it - woops... it just happened where i tried to type "how" and it came out as "ow" 😟
Anyway, here's how to test it:
Have a MBP up and running, have a machine press random keys at different times, perhaps open up Safari, place curser in a 'Search' window and wait, give it a few minutes, and then press a key, and look, the first one is missed. It doesn't happen all the time, but I definitely was able to repeat the issue more than once by being patient.
It is still present with certain macbook pros and if someone wants to call it a sw issue, one thing is for sure, something it certain mbp's doesn't allow a proper communication- a key-press on certain keyboards or logic boards or connections or whatever, it doesn't matter, either way the key doesn't get acknowledged as even being pressed.

Here is how you stack the thread at the top of the list.

Repeat the above continuously. Every day.

I did it for 2-3 weeks after others became tired of it. I called CR (Customer Relations, who have access to the engineers) every day. I posted to threads multiple times every day. I emailed SJ ever day. When I became tired others took up the slack. AppleCare and CR knew the issue when I called. Finally the keyboard update was released.
