If your podcast is not appearing - add your details here

From reading various threads it seems that lots of us are having problems getting our podcasts listed. I'm one of those whose podcast was listed as 'already submitted' but has not yet appeared in the directory.

There seem to be numerous 'theories' out there as to the reasons behind some of us not being listed. Can I suggest that anyone who cannot get their podcast listed (lets say you've been waiting several weeks) adds their details to this thread - as we gather more examples maybe we can work out what the issue is.

Suggest we leave the following info - location & podcast feed address as a minimum (can anyone else think of other useful info to gather?)

I'm based in the UK & my feed is at www.jamcasting.com/podcast/feed.xml

Cheers
Jim

Count me in on this list. July 18th and still waiting. Have tried multiple configurations of my feed at feeds.feedburner.com/socialblunders/feed, none of which have made a difference.

And of course, with the fantastic account interface, it's been a breeze to check to see the status of my submitted podcasts, change the url, and even delete bad URLs. Oh, wait, nevermind, that doesn't exist does it?

Nope. . . Day 21 and still no information and no podcast in the directory. I and my freinds can manually add the podcast feed but that is kind of a pain. I guess it is a good sign however (for us Apple stockholders) that the podcast business is keeping Apple swamped. Hey, I've got to see a bright side! I can hear Yoda right now. . . "Patience you must learn".

Hello Lance, when you say you can manually add the podcast feed, what do you mean? I Have been trying to publish my feed to iTune Podcast Directory with Feeder 1.2 since Aug. 11th. Steve Harris the creator of Feeder 1.2 told me I had a valid feed (see my Post jamespeabo, "I am using Feeder 1.2 to publish my Podcast to iTunes", 06:58pm Aug 17, 2005 CDT ), but why can't we get this addressed by iTunes? I too hold stock, but this is not the customer service I expect.

Hello,

my girlfriend has submitted her Podcast more than a month ago.
The feed is princessremy.podspot.de/rss
Since then she is waiting to be listed. Numerous e-mails to Apple only resulted in standard replys. Trying to re-submit the feed gives the famous "this feed has already been submitted" message.
Since more than 2 weeks I try to get info from Apple - without success so far 😟

We are quite disappointed, especially because it seems a communication with Apple about this problem is not possible.

Well James, that part they made simple. . . But it was difficult to find. While in iTunes, click on the ADVANCED tab up top. Then select SUBSCRIBE TO PODCAST. Enter the web address of your feed then click OK. It should appear in seconds on your podcast playlist. Keep in mind (I learned the hard way) that iTunes only plays nice with MP3 and AAC formats. Good luck and God Bless you!
HOOAH. . .

Over a month and 15+ e-mails to support and our feed is still not added. I have created multiple versions of the rss xml in hopes that one would take but that has not worked either. This is KILLING OUR TRAFFIC. Apple, please address the people that are trying to help you build content for your application. These canned responses and the occasionally "We're sending this to our 2nd level support" is extremely frustratating. Why is it that some make it on the directories but others do not?

Well. I guess I'll chime in.

Here's my situation. I already have one podcast published around July 18, which was approximately 2 weeks after I submitted it.
phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=74837876

I submitted another one feed for my other "side project" podcast, with the RSS feed of feeds.feedburner.com/webleed4real around that same time of July 18.

So here we are over a month gone by and still no publish of the podcast. I know the feeds work because people can subscribe through the Advanced menu and type the URL in and receive them. They're fully functional MP3 and Quicktime Movie files. But I'd really like the publicity of being published.

I know I shouldn't be complaining because I already have one podcast up especially when some people have NO podcasts published. But there's no policy of users having multiple podcasts? I know Leo Laporte has more than 1 podcasts with the TWIT podcast, his KFI podcast, and Laporte report podcast.

Yes, I drop the F-bomb a few times in my webleed4real podcast, but it's clearly marked explicit. And I've heard a **** of a lot worse things on other podcasts.

"The feed has already been submitted" is not acceptable to us.

Should it normally take almost 5 weeks to be accepted? I had called Apple's corporate # ( 408.996.1010 ) and a guy told me there was no direct way to contact the iTunes team other than this site: www.apple.com/support/itunes/download.html It's to send e-mail feedback if you're having a problem with the iTMS. The site says that they will respond to the e-mail within 72 hours and I've sent 3 e-mails and still haven't heard anything. Maybe if we all send them tons of e-mails or continue calling the corporate #, maybe Apple will tell us of our submission status or why certain podcasts were removed. My podcast site is: dmbpodcast.blogspot.com/ and the mp3 feed is feeds.feedburner.com/TheUnofficialDmbPodcast . The bookmarkable AAC feed is feeds.feedburner.com/wds-m4b . I submitted the aac feed almost 3 weeks ago. My e-mail is dmbpodcast@gmail.com

Its been almost 2 months since you the folk at iTunes asked us to stop adding our podcasts for PirateWeather.com. In addition iTunes deleted us completely, very unfortunate for us as we based our business model on being included in the iTunes Podcast directory. It was only going to be for a few days, they said they would call us. We notice that weather.com is strategically places across several different subjects. I am sure they are busy but PLEASE don't forget about the little guys, who were with you when you had very little content. pirateweather.com
