MMS/ Picture Messaging

Does the new iPhone support MMS??? If no, WHY? This is a normal function that all phones being produced in our world of technology have. I have a original iPhone that I purchased almost a year ago. And when the warrenty is up, I'm just thinking about getting a blackberry. Just because the iPhone does not support normal fetures. What are the pros and cons if I do this? Also, if i chose to go with another type of phone, will I still be able to use the iPod part of the iPhone?

Dell, Windows Vista

I read on AT&T's forums that viewmymessage.com is being discontinued, which I then verified with not being able to log into the site to get an MMS I received today.

Sure Apple never listed MMS as a feature, but you think they'd find a way to cooperate with AT&T an make a system to view received MMSes in a less kludgy way than we have now. Those who say we shouldn't question Apple/AT&T's system and suggest we buy another phone might as well be saying they never expect Apple to realize when the most advanced handheld device ever released can't do something a clunky old cellphone can do.

They might as well say Apple is not capable of recognizing flaws or improving their products.

This is a failure in their design, and Apple is known for anything by failure. All we can do is hope that they realize some people out there can't use e-mail on their phones, or send an SMS using an @ symbol, and that this adversely affects their customers in a way only they can solve.

In general this phone should be made for use of pleasure and business. It should have all the options that a regular phone has. What if you want to send a picture message to your son or daughter whom has a regular phone? How are you to email that to them? I just really hope that there will be updates to make the phone better considering the amount of money it is worth. I hope i did not waste my money for this phone.

Show me any other phone, better yet, any consumer product, that is ALL ENCOMPASSING. i dont think you'll find a product that satisfies everyone and every need.

you always have the option to return it and get something that more fully satisfies your needs.

god, if it's so important to you people to receive mms messages of nasty naked fat people or vulgar sex acts, change phones! Frankly, I don't tell my contacts except for my sister that they can send that garbage to my email, because I'm glad NOT to get that stuff.

Sure some people like it....the iPhone is not for those people. Get over it already..... you should have checked for this feature before you got the iPhone if it's so important to you. It's not like it's a secret that MMS are not supported.

Sorry to vent...I wish Apple would block all further posting of "no MMS?" posting! As a great man once said, "Gawsh!"

Baloney.

Apple manufacturers a product that includes certain features. It is up to each consumer to decide if the included features meets his/her needs and/or wants, and especially if the iPhone meets the most important needs and/or wants. If not, the answer is quite simple - don't purchase an iPhone. What a concept. This is no different with any other product - you have a choice. No one held a gun to your head to purchase an iPhone in the first place, and the same in regards to keeping the iPhone. If you are in the return window for payment credit, return it. If not, sell it and use the proceeds to purchase a device that meets your needs and wants, and especially your most important needs and wants. Other than that, Apple doesn't have to do squat unless they want to. Potential buyers have plenty of other options to choose from and purchasing an iPhone is a choice.

I'm not so caught up in owning an iPhone. I purchased a device that meets my most important needs and wants. If the iPhone didn't meet my most important needs and wants, I would not have purchased one. Shutting an iPhone off won't accomplish anything - not purchasing an iPhone in the first place if it doesn't meet your most important needs and wants is the answer, and the same with any product. I wouldn't purchase such an expensive device before doing at least a minimal amount of research along with visiting a store where a demo model is available to handle and use, and asking some questions.

The iPhone was not designed nor intended for everyone.

When I bought the iphone (after having three other terrible smartphones), i knew it didnt do mms, flash, video recording etc. Those are things i used on the smartphones but didn't really affect my purchase. The smartphones were great when they were working but when you had a problem you had to reboot it. My last smartphone before the iphone was a htc touch. It got to the point I was rebooting 3 to 5 times a day, just to get the phone to operate correctly. After a reboot it worked great until the next reboot in a couple of hours.

I'd rather have a phone that works, and works w/o rebooting multiple times a day. To me this is what the iphone does. It works and I find myself only having to reboot maybe once a week. it's worth not having mms, video recording etc. compared to a phone that works.
