In my experience with other Smartphones, if the SSL cert isn't the problem, then it's most likely authentication settings on the web server in IIS and/or the subfolders/virtual folders. Since there are literally thousands of permutations possible there, I'm probably just going to wait for someone to say what it should be.

So far as I can tell, in 2003SP2, Microsoft-Active-Sync has to have basic authentication enabled. Other than that, I can't really tell what else is the problem.

I'm having the exact same issue, entering my information per that URL does not work either. Have you had any luck trying something different?

Question:

Can you connect to https://yourserver/oma by logging in? If you can't, or if you get an error, you have a server side problem. That MAY be my problem right now, but I have to wait until after quittin' time to get home.

the issue im having and maybe someone can help is that it only retrieves messages that ive read. If i send myself an test message it wont come up until i read it on my webmail. Any ideas? Thanks in advcance

I can connect using this, but I get "The device type you are using is not supported. Press Ok to continue. Ok/Ok, and do not warn me again."

If I click OK, then it takes me to a very scaled down version of the webclient. So I assume that this is my problem...

RESOLVED.

Server side.

Exchange-oma virtual dir was only accessible from limited hosts. Fixed.
Also, (this might be it too) Microsoft-Server-Activesync's application path the Massync.dll did not have quotes around it until I verified the location, which threw and error when verifying.

Now everything shows up.

Oh noes! This doesn't bode well for the rest of us. I don't think I will talk our IT department into changing anything on our server. (I assume that most of us with this problem are in the same situation regarding their IT department).

Waiting months for a firmware update - hoping that this would work - only to be 'let down'. Not that it is Apple's or Microsoft's fault. But it still stinks.

Well, that is not a default configuration, and I strongly doubt that that is the same for everyone. I'm just saying: it's server side.

I used the default inputs on the phone that it asks for and it worked --- once the server side issues were taken care of.

I am having a different issue. I was able to set up the account with no problem. I set up some calendar events and verified that they were pushed back to the server and I thought that everything was fine. However I come back a few minutes later and all my calendar events were removed from Exchange and the iphone.

Any ideas?

I am able to verify the exchange account but can not get anything to return to the phone.
