I thought the solution had finally come in the form of Apple iTunes 5.0.0.35!! I was looking forward to the ripping and burning. But alas, 5.x did not solve my problems! I an unable to import even 1 second of a song. My protest is to not buy anything from iTunes music store until Apple gets this thing resolved. There's no point in buying music from them if I can't back it up to CD!! I find it totally amazing that Apple has moved to a new generation of iTunes without resolving this problem!!

Hi, I have the same problem. I have installed Windows XP servicePack2 and updated to the latest edtn of Itunes and now have the problem where about 5secs of each song in transferred to Pc and thats it.
I have uninstalled service pack several times and it seems that it helps and the transfering of the cds works again. There must be some sort of Default error im overlooking as iv tried loads of stuff.
Please, please, please help

Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.
