The ingenuity of the people on this discussion board is awesome. However, Apple still needs to fix this problem ASAP!!! We the paying customers should not have to go through extra steps to do a workaround on this calendar syncing problem. Apple sold us a product that they promised would sync with Outlook. Deliver on what you promised and what we already paid money for...a fully reliable and working phone.

Hi all, I help this helps. Iphone 3G, Win XP SP2, Outlook 2007. I could sync contacts and email but not calendar. I found an answer that worked on another discussion:
http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/windows-pc-and-iphone/partial-outlook-2007- calendar-sync-3505-6.html
Basically if you've used Outlook through the yrs and automatically imported the same pst files, there are buggy things that Outlook 2007 doesn't like even though it reads them. We exported a copy of the pst file as a tab win file. Wiped out all the events and appointments to have a blank calendar. Created 1 new appointment on Outlook and then on Iphone- If finally synced! Reset sync history. I then imported the tab file back in. We lose the To Do list but the calendar syncs now and has each time. Good luck. BTW we'd tried everything from Itunes reinstall, Outlook reinstall, IPA, deactivating add ins etc before finding the article that proved to be our answer.

Just tried the above solution and it worked perfectly for me. Can't say whether it will stay that way at the moment but it seems to work now. It may be worth noting that in addition to the guide after deleting all the events in my calender I then reset the sync history on MobileMe so that that was cleared as well as the iPhone. Then I synced the iphone directly with outlook not via Mobile Me and then put everything back on Mobile Me. Convoluted I know but it worked.

I'm using Windows XP SP3. Outlook 2003. iPhone 3G factory version. iTunes 7.7.

I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but here are my findings - and they differ from some of those above. I refer to the Outlook Calendar syncing.

I've used it for years on this PC and it synced perfectly... or so I thought. I then noticed an appointment I'd edited on the iPhone had gone missing on the PC. A week later it did the same. After lots of combinations of testing, and having found this thread, here's my thoughts (if not real solution.)

My testings have nothing to do with recurring appointments.

Items on the PC marked with a label (where you select the colour coding) other than "None" do sync to the iPhone and then correctly appear on both calendars. However if you subsequently edit them on the iPhone they disappear from the Day/Week/Month view in Outlook upon resync. Note that they are still there under the Active Appointments view. Changing them back to 'None' label and resyncing them brings them back to the other view - sometimes! You may need to remove the Private flag too if there is one.

If you still cannot get the appointment in the proper view then list it in Active Appointments CTRL+C copy it and CTRL+V paste it to duplicate it. Delete the original and resync and it's back on both. Poor I know but it works.

So for me the Label dropdown causes the problems.

I exported to the CSV and noticed almost the same thing. Although in the reminder field for my iPhone appts it would show 'true' 'false', the date and time reminder fields were blank. The appts set directly in Outlook, even though there is a 'false' reminder field, there is nonetheless a reminder date and time....

Close but no cigar. Still no solution, eh? >;[

Sure - they show up when you re-enter them on the iPhone and sync. However, when you shut down Outlook and reboot it, there is an error message that states "There was an error in saving your PST file" or something like that. It goes into the search and repair mode in the background, it then says the data file is fine but the appts from the iPhone are gone again from the month view....

I have YET to use an iPhone update without some major issue taking me HOURS to resolve. >:[

Set Repeat to Every Day and hit Save. When it takes you to the previous screen, an End Date option will be shown. Select the End Date and set it to the same date as the Start Date (unless you really need the item to recur). The Repeat option is Apple's take on Microspft's "recurrence" in Outlook 2007; they're the same thing.

I have been having the same problem with appointments created in my original iPhone 2.0 not showing in Outlook 2003. I tried IRXProductions' suggestion and it worked for me too!! I even edited an iPhone calendar item that was not showing up in Outlook to be repeating, and that now is showing in Outlook as well. I hope it sticks. Thanks IRXProductions and everyone else on this board. I hope Apple Tech finds a permanent solution soon!!

Exactly the same issue here. There is obviously a problem.

I'm prepared to work around it as long as it's a temporary glitch.

This is my first foray into the Mac world, I'm hoping a long time Apple customer can answer some quick Qs:

- Did the Sync work perfectly before the 2.0 update on the original iPhone?
- What's Apple's history like in solving bugs - do they generally get solved with one of their many updates, or are they left? It seems bizarre that I've not heard of anyone that's been told by Apple that it's a recognised problem.

I am having exactly the same problem!
My items are disappearing one by one when I am syncing and when the items is over 😟
Additionally, I am using Infotriever to download automatically my trip details (plane, hotel...) on Outlook and strangely those items does not disappear...
BTW, it works for me too when I change on my iPhone appointment with recurring finishing the same day.

I have tried all things listed above and have no new suggestions to add, but just wanted to add yet one more voice to the complaints as another disgruntled consumer. This is my first Apple product and I am very disappointed. I sincerely hope that they will fix this because I cannot afford to lose my entire calendar! The "geniuses" sent me to apple-care tech support, who, after an hour of trouble shooting the exact same things my husband has tried, referred me to this thread for possible solutions and told me there was nothign else he could do. So here I sit, with my first product, completely nonfunctional and frustrated. Makes me wonder why I considered switching.
