Exchange Birthday Shifted by 1 day

Who is he/she? And where did you get this email?
I am ready to write but I do not want to write just anyone in apple (like spamming their mail).

The email was given to me by the the person by itself. He gets me through several test and wants to give the problem to the developer. And sorry, but they must be spammed, they are not interested in us and the problem we have with this problem!

Another factor here is what time zone is the server using?

Also there is 2 places the timezone is set on the iPhone. One for Mail, Contacts and Calendar, the other for the iPhone as a whole.

Are both set correctly?

I'm in the Timezone Amsterdam (GMT+1). All Time zone settings are on that timezone (on Macbook, on iPhone and and PC) Also time zone support is set to on.

I'll start trying changing settings and then sync everything each time, and see if the problem will go away...

Spamming does not solve the problem, you need to know to whom you are writing and if they are responsible for this issue = if the can help you. We need to draw their attention! "I don't even remember this.""Greenpeace does" 🙂

And yeah, I've been doing manual sync (No "Automatically sync when this ipohone is connected." Overwriting was done in Info-Advanced-Contacts.
And for some time I had no Contact Syncing while allowing automatic syncing (and also for some time just with manual, so no contact syncing). Meaning that music and calendars were syncing but not the contacts. Currently I have also Photos, Podcasts, and previoiusly done some Video syncing as well. And also custom made ringtones (though ringtones were maybe synced after the problem with contacts disappeared).
You never know what causes the problem...

Well, I do not trust apple now to update to 2.0.2 unless we get the version without bug.

And I'm not allowed to post the really sadly experience I had because of this problem by takling to the Apple support serveral times... The deleted the post... Nothing more to say...

if that was on a blackberry, u could see patch coming on the next morning, common **** it, that problem is messing with all the contact db.

contacted as many "support" email address i could but go no answer either, not even a clue that could ever think about fixing it in the upcoming 2.1 patch...

Essentially Outlook will list a birthday as starting at midnight, possibly as an all day event. The information in contacts is drawn from that information. There is an issue with Outlook and timezones that can cause all day events to shift similar to what you are seeing with birthdays. When that happens the all day event starts at 11:00 PM the night before, and shows up across two days, or in some cases starts at 1:00 am, and ends at 1:00 am the next day. The difference can be up to 12 hours depending on the time zones involved.

If all day events get moved by an hour or so they sometimes show up as 2 days long. This article discusses making sure your timezones are correct across all places that have the data:

The issue is not the shifted day in the calendar. The calendar is showing the proper date but the birthday field in the contact itself is shifted.

If the Birthday is an event that starts at midnight, and there is a 1 hour shift back, what day would the birthday show as?

I would recommend double checking the timezones as listed in the article above.

If the calendar shows the proper date and time, why should my timezone settings be wrong? And why is the contact application using timezones at all? My birthday is always on the same day, regardless which timezone I'm using.

1.) it's not a problem in the calender!
2.) the problem of shifting is in the contact!
3.) it's not a problem of different timezones!!!
how often should everthing be rewrited???
the problem startet with 2.0 and ist still there! it's a problem in the software of the iphone and it must be solved by apple!
and it ist not helpful to post so often something about wrong timezones... it would be must helpful if apple solve the problem. it was not in the 1.04!

I had this exact same problem, after many failed attempts at changing the time zone and it still making my birthdays one day out i found out it was because i never set my 3g iphone up from scratch, ie i set up my iphone from a restore not a new iphone. I dont know if its the same problem but try it just to make sure.

i tried a 1000 tings, i also get a brand new iphone from apple and did no restore... it's allways the same problem and once again, it's not a problem than can be solved by the user!!! i can't see any posts again what we can also try and do... i spend so many hours... the problem must solved by apple!!!
