For those who have submitted non-free apps to the app store: how long did it take to get your contract with Apple set up? I submitted my tax/bank information last night, but my contract is still being processed. I think this means I can't submit my app yet. I'm trying to figure out whether this is abnormal.
In the "Contracts in Progress" section of the Contracts page of iTunes Connect, I have green checkmarks under "Contact Info", "Bank Info", "Tax info", and "Setup in Progress."
Took me about a week to have it approved. You can submit your app for review. They can even review it and approve it, but if your contract is not approved it will sit at Pending Contract. Once that is done it goes to "Ready for sale".
There was some time for sure, but I can't tell how much since I wasnt really looking - like I said my app is stuck for other reason. It was definetely less than a week. I am registered as a company, FWIW.
What about free applications? My iTunes Connect page shows my COntract for free applications as Contact Info, Bank Info, Tax Info, Setup in Process being completed (green check mark) and Setup Complete being blank.
My free application is "Pending Contract"
when ... Apples iTunes Connect Documentation says:
+"Pending Contract (Yellow) – appears when the a price tier has been selected, but+
+you have not completed a paid commercial agreement. "+
Same here, I'm stuck in the "Setup in Process" step (about 1 1/2 day so far).
I'm guessing that Apple is flooded with contracts right now, having opened up the iPhone developer program. I just wish I'd payed attention for the contractual part of things before I did.
Nevertheless, if someone has a clue how long the queue is, please let us know. I'm guessing a lot of people are wondering how long they have to wait for their paperwork to go through.
So far, the process has been smooth though, except for my bank, which didn't have the info I needed :\ A very helpful Apple employee ended up giving me my branch's transit number in the expected format...
I contacted Apple, and yes, it is normal for the state to stay at "in process" for some time.
I am paraphrasing here: because part 2 of the contract setup and the App review are done manually, they can take several days/weeks depending on the volume of items in their queue.
Please bear in mind that I am answering this to the best of my knowledge as an external person and that I have no authority whatsoever on the subject. I'm just reporting what I was told.
What was the transit number's expected format? I called my bank and they said the transit number for my branch at the Royal Bank of Canada was just a 5 digit number. But I get an error entering it in. It says it's not valid and to contact Apple if I believe it is correct.
Wikipedia: In Canada, for Electronic Fund Transactions (EFT) the current format is a leading zero, the institution number, then the branch number all with no dashes.
For the Royal Bank of Canada, if your transit is 12345, try entering : 000312345
