Bonjour/mDNSResponder.exe Issues

* Moved here: Tim Gaunt, "Bonjour/mDNSResponder.exe Issues", 08:41am Sep 8, 2005 CDT *

Hi,

After a couple of somewhat irritating days of constant loss of DNS relying through my server I've traced the issue back to mDNSResponder.exe and the bonjour application, as soon as mDNSResponder.exe is executed my Router (D-link DSL-G604T) can't seem to relay the DNS info, has anyone else had this issue and know how to sort it? I've disabled it in services and atm its ok but only time will tell...

Any ideas would be apprechiated.

Tim

I discovered the same think, with my DLINK computer (DNS relay impacted by the BONJOUR application. But didn't think to disable it in the service (god I am stupide 😉 ). So, I removed v5.00 (was by the way not easy !).

But what is funny is the following :

- During the test, I connected a 2nd computer to the same DSL router (2nd computer without i-tunes).... Same effect on the 2nd router, meaning that it's really the DLINK router DNS relay that is dead.

- I tried to manually enter the provider DNS in the PC network configuration, but didn't work too. I have even tried to disable the DNS relay on my DLINK.

Anyway, many thanks for the work-around.... I don't know what I will do....retry or not ?

I have the same issue - I have posted on similar topics.

I have gone back to version 4.7, re-formatted my hard-drive twice, spent a lot of money on computer support help lines.

There is no way I am upgrading to V5 until this problem has been recognized and resolved with either D-link or Apple. - Would advice anyone else to do the same.
