HELP WITH INSTALLATION PLEASE!

hey guys, i try to ask people at ilounge.com but they were useless! no one even brother to help me! i'm really mad because i bought a new ipod now i don't have itunes to put songs in it. this all happened when version 5 came out. one day i opened up itunes and they asked me to upgrade so i was like ok why not? when i upgraded it totally destory everything. now i can't install itunes anymore, not even the oldest version. i tried install quicktimes 7 standalone then install itunes but during the installation it just exits by it self. they left no error, no nothing and just say the installation was insuccessful, same thing as itunes 5.0.1. i tried installing my 4.0 but they keep giving me errors like OpenSCManagerA Error 0. i did read a thread about this how giving admin privillage for someting but my admin aready has privillage and it still wont install.

I am trying to follow the installation instructions that bnoir has laid out for people having trouble with the new itunes. I am finding it impossible to uninstall quicktime. In add/remove programs i try to remove quicktime and i recieve the error message:

"the following file does not exist or is not a valid uninstallation log file.

C/WINDOWS/system32/quicktime/uninstall.log"

I tried using the windows installer cleanup utility but quicktime is not listed.

I am using norton antivirus 2005.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

nope i am not getting any messages. its like the when it gets to publishing infomation it just vanish, liek the lady vanish during installation.

hi Cuong Than!

when you click on your Ipod updater, do you get an "Ipod service error" message?

(my hope here is that we can treat the current error that you have without having to reinstall itunes. then we can avoid the "vanishing installation" problems. so i'm just trying to work out which error you're currently getting that is asking you to reinstall.)
