has anyone used the new cd and dvd label maker for mac - version 1.3.2 - free download?
does the paper label interfere with disk play? where does one get the paper labels?

sorry to go on about this - i do appreciate your help. i just bought a new hp printer and really like it.
it does not have dvd labeling capabilities. what external (and inexpensive) drive might you suggest to burn dvd labels?
i am currently looking on pcworld to see reviews, etc. of devices.

have any suggestions?

and thx again,
deb

do you mean one that prints directly to dvd's (as opposed to an adhesive lable)?

You can also use the latest Canon printer/s like the ip8500 which also print directly to dvd's in full color (they do outstanding work btw).

Epson is a good chooice also (as mentioned above).

I have done a fair amount of searching and havent found a stand alone print on DVD solution cheaper than just buying a DVD print capable printer. I just got a HP and it prints fantastic on ink jet printable disks. My only gripe on epson has been that they are ink hogs.

IMO unless doing just 1 or 2 disks, lightscribe is not a option for me as it takes at least 2 burns to look like anything and that takes about 20 minutes per burn, plus the lightscribe media is more expensive.

deb:

The Epson R200 isn't produced any more and it had a problem of reporting out of ink when there was still about 25% left. At one point it would not let you print even though there was ink. There was a big lawsuit over that which was settled.

I just got the R280, the same price as the R200 and it is sweet. I also use Discus to create labels like these.

I agree with F Shippey about using an inkjet printer instead of the lightscribe burner. This way you get a printer for prints and disks.
