deb:

One you establish a template for the disks you're using, i.e , small hub, large hub, etc. you can adjust the printable area in the first window where it has the Outer diameter slider bar and the inner diameter slider bar. My printer came with a cardboard disk that I could use to print a test print, colors and a circle around the outside edge. You need to setup the page size, for the Epson at least, to A4 paper. Don't know what the HP requires. I'm guessing it's the paper size that's throwing off the picture.

Create a test label with just dots at the inner hub, every 90 degrees and at the outer hub every 90 degrees. Then you can print multiple tries on one disk, rotating it slightly each try, to get the alignment correct.

actually i chose on the page setup
CD/DVD 80mm (rather than A4)
but now my new printer is refusing to work.
i am thinking about taking it back to office depot but
cannot find the receipt - unusual for me.
the salesperson knew i bought it to use with a mac and print labels.
and now i find the labeling software is not mac compatible.

thx

+I also recommend Memorex DVD +R (printable)+

No, No, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Memorex is notorious for causing problems with burns. You are fortunate if you have not had problems.
Most of the knowledgeable posters here highly recommended using a good brand such as Verbatim, Maxell or Taio Yuden (not sure I spelled that correctly).

Do a search here for Memorex and you will see how many times that brand is mentioned as not recommended.

I know some people think it is risky to use labels on DVDs, but many commercial firms who offer duplication services have been using labels for years with very good results.

I just bought Print Shop 2 which will print labels quite nicely (it even has iDVD templates). Then all you have to do is buy Avery CD/DVD labels (they are already cut and just punch out). I would also suggest getting the little device which centers the label when you apply it.

Maybe you don't have a problem with the stick-on labels now, but if you expect your disks to last for some time, you will probably see problems with them. Have a look at these:

https://forum.adobe.com/webx?14@@.59b6151f/2 See Barbara Brundage's comment. She is the author of _Photoshop Elements 3 The Missing Manual_ and is extremely knowledgeable. I would trust her judgment about this. If you go to the iPhoto forums, you will probably see some of her posts to that. Even her newest book, on PSE 5, states that it is risky to use stickon labels for disks that play in computers.
