RTAS in Logic?

I'm pretty sure it's impossible, but I thought I'd ask anyway...

Is there anyway to get my RTAS plugins in Logic? Logic doesn't support VST cause maybe I could wrap them to VST and use them that way... I don't know... I like logic and pro tools and don't want to have to choose...

Yes, the freeze function in DP works only in realtime mode since the DAe doesn´t provide realtime bouncing/freezing. DP creates automatically a track (or multiple tracks if you freeze more than one track at the same time) and leaves the original track as it was. I usually pack this track in a folder and mute it. The only thing you have to do is to select a region (or more than one) and choose the freeze command.

One thing I prefer in DP too, is like the audiosuite works. In logic you have to open the sample editor and for every further edit you want to do, you have to hangle through the audiosuite menu again.

In DP you select (before or after doesn´t matter) a region or more in the Arrange Window (in DP it´s called Sequence Editor) and choose an audiosuite plug from the menu. After applying the edit, the plug window can even be open so that you can make further edits without to choose the plug everytime again from the menu.

Also the response of the DAE is much better in DP. In Logic every edit (f.e. mute/demute) during playback causes a delay (estimatet 1-2 seconds) in updating the engine. In DP it´s very short, perhaps only 100-200 ms.

Hope that helps for you.

Greetings, J.F.

Ah, I forgot ... the audiosuite edits in DP work all in background, so you can go on with your work until the edit is complete. During the background processing DP plays the files as they have been before the edit.

These are only an apparent Logic limitations because Logic works with 2 buffer in its digital audio mixer!
This makes de facto Logic The DAW with the highest existing ratio S / N !!

Logic works at 32Bit foating point X2 + another one separated 32bit floating point for the Virtual instruments
Logic have another buffer between Audio tracks and AUX/BUSS...
that's why DP appers faster that Logic!

This might seem a limitation only to people who are not experts

The Sound quality of a Logic Bounce in the BOX is better that any DAE TDM obsolete hardware...
in order to have a professional Mix with DP or PT is required at least a Summing Aux Line 8 Channel or more!

Logic gives a perfect 64 bit (32X2) floating point deep internal resolution Digital Mixdown... but obviuosly you can use also analog Summing Aux for a more highest result!

Logic is the best DAW... the apparents limitation are focused to obtain THE BEST audio quality without needing expansive DAE TDM hardware!

sorry I forget... AudioSuite is a very obsolete technology way to use plugs...
there is export region as audio file in logic : AWESOME advanced features! (it works with Audio and Virtual Instrument as well)
