G4 RAM Upgrate .

I have Power MAC G4 , and i want to add more memory up to 2Gigabyite for more Performance .... Can You Advice me what the suitable RAMs Can i By for Power MAC G4 .

That's all the memory controller supports.

I swear I went to a website of someone who modified the memory controller to accept 4GB. I think its possible for the MDD's to support theoretically 4GB memory, just that the memory controller needs to be disassembled and the proper Assembly language statements need to be programmed in there to recognize the other 2GB. Possible? Maybe.. has anyone ever done it? According to the website I went to awhile back(can't remember the name of it!), the guy said it was 100 percent possible!

I read on a website awhile ago that one guy did reverse engineer the memory controller to accept 4GB memory. Theoretically, I believe it can be done, though its not really known as to how it can be done. My guess one would have to know PowerPC Assembly language and disassemble the memory controller code and modify it. Hardware wise would require wires to be soldered. This is only speculation, as I forgot the website.. ah... bitsandpieces.com I think thats it.
