Recommend a cover or case for iPhone 3G

What would people recommend as the best choice for a cover or case for the iPhone 3G? I've had my iPhone for a week and would like to get a cover or case which is convenient, lightweight and does not take away too much for the aesthetics of the iPhone.

Thanks.

I can recommend the Power Support Crytal Film as a screen protector! It does not cover 100% of the screen but its close enough. Plus it really is crytal clear, no distortion at all! As for the case, I am using one of the Belkin silicon cases at the momonet, not too happy with it as it is a poor fit and takes up too much space. I am awaiting delivery of my full invisible shield.........

I am currently using a Contour iSee which is clear, but the case tends to get scratched up and not as pretty 😟 I am not sure how protective it is seeing as though i have not dropped it.

I plan on upgrading to a new Agent18 or another Contour because they had an excellent reputation of being good looking and extraordinarily protective.

I tried a lot of cases on my 2G iPhone. Each one had at least one negative aspect. I think I found one for my 3G that has no negatives. The Griffin Wave Case. Things that are important to me are: Drop protection, not bulky, doesn't completely disguise the phone (the back s semi clear, can still see the apple logo shining through), easily slides into pocket, tight fit. I think the Griffin Wave Case satisfies all of my needs. I like it so far.

I had an Incase Slider for the original iPhone and just got an Agent 18 EcoShield for iPhone 3G. It's hard black (comes in colors) scratch resistant plastic and offers complete back and side (including all chrome) coverage. It snaps together tight and is minimalist in appearance to accent, and not distract from the iPhone's great design. The screen is exposed, but I found a cheap ($8) pouch I keep it in if it's going in a bag. Another nice thing about the EcoShield, is that you can dock it in any Apple Universal Dock (which most of us have at least a couple of). Don't get an iPhone dock. I'm not a fan of rubber cases, and clear ones to me are ugly. This one is a great case! If you get one from an Apple Store, make sure it says "3G" on the package. Some were recalled and mistakingly said "G3" on the package.

You'll probably get as many opinions as there are people! 🙂 I HIGHLY recommend using BodyGuardz to protect about anything they cover (even my MacBook has one). You can still use any of the other cases out there, but the phone itself will be protected (on ALL sides) from scratches, etc., especially if you want to slide it "naked" into your pocket.

If you like high-end cases, go to vajacases.com. I prefer the holster option rather than having a case adding bulk to my phone while using it. They have solutions for both.

Lastly, if you don't mind 'labels', the Blackberry-brand leather holster case for the Curve phones actually fits the iPhone perfectly. It's got a secure belt clip, it rotates and locks in any position, and the phone can be easily removed and inserted (the cover flap is held in place magnetically). I think it sells online for around $20, T-Mobile, et al, sell it for $25.
