iPhone 3G + wifi + YouTube = Slow!

I wonder if there are more people that have problems streaming content from YouTube on their iPhone 3G? Its no problem with my first gen. iPhone using the same wifi connection at home. I see that there are some complaints about this while googling, but Im not sure how common it is and what causes it?

setting >>Wi-Fi>>choose your wifi network >> Change DNS to 8.8.8.8

It works for me.

DNS Change from my 10.x.x.x (Apple extreme router) to 8.8.8.8 worked for my iPhone 4.

Note: Prior to change My 2nd Gen Touch would load and play a 30 second you tube video prior to it starting on the iPhone4. Now both run exactly the same, but with MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better performance!!!!

Its the MAC OS FAULT.

I have macbook pro running snow lepoard and windows 7 on dual boot.

Skype and Youtube are always slow.

While macbok is running MAC OS X i am unable to do video chat on skype . Also in youtube i need to refresh it twice to watch a video and goes to buffering in the middle.

when the same macbook running WINDOWS 7 skype video works perfect and the youtube works perfect

I belive it is the same case with iPhones since my iPhone also does not play youtube while connceted to wifi.

definetley no problem with the router i have changed 4 already...

may be apple will recommend us to use their airport express or extreme lol..

Try clearing temporary files to do this go to settings, go to the safari tab and clear history cookies and cache. This will improve the speed tremendously.

Wow. I've been dealing with YouTube being incredibly slow for the last 2 years. After reading this thread I changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 (OpenDNS) and it worked! It's still a little bit slow, but 500x faster than before. Thanks!!!!
